Know Your Watering Days

Image of a graphic with text that reads know your watering days

New water conservation rules took effect for LADWP customers on June 1 limiting outdoor watering days to two days per week. Customers with street addresses ending in odd numbers may water on Mondays and Fridays and customers with even-numbered street addresses may water on Thursdays and Sundays, before 9 a.m. or after 4 p.m.

Now is the time to take advantage of the water- and money-saving rebates and programs we have available to both residential and commercial customers. The less water we use now, the more we have for when we need it most.

Fallen Worker Memorial Honors LADWP Employees Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice

Earlier this month, LADWP held a Fallen Worker Memorial Event to honor the employees we have lost while delivering water and electricity to the City of Los Angeles. More than 220 names are included on a memorial in front of LADWP headquarters. Mayor Eric Garcetti; Councilmember Mitch O'Farrell; General Manager, Martin Adams, family members of the fallen, employees, and retirees were all in attendance.

The majority of incidents occurred during the first 30 years of the Department’s history. And of those, 24 deaths occurred during the St. Francis Dam collapse on March 13, 1928.

The fallen employees worked for various divisions of the Department. The majority worked in the Power System in Power Distribution, Electric Trouble, Power Operations, Power Design and Construction, and Electrical Station Maintenance.

Partnering with Neighborhood Councils
We're the only department in the City of Los Angeles with a formal Memorandum of Understanding with Neighborhood Councils committing to regular and ongoing communication about our programs and policies.

The DWP-NC MOU Oversight and Advocacy Committees meet every first Saturday of the month at 8:30 a.m. Meetings are broadcast via webcast. Join us!
