LADWP is Keeping Soccer Fans Cool and Hydrated
 at Select Metro Stations

LADWP and L.A. Metro have teamed up to expand the citywide network of hydration stations to keep fans cool and hydrated during this summer of soccer. Temporary hydration stations are now available at select Metro stations and Fan Zones through July 10. With forecasted high temperatures and an influx of visitors, this initiative helps provide access to clean, free drinking water throughout the city.

LADWP Helps Protect Seniors from Summer Heat

LADWP sponsored more than 1,600 fans that are being distributed to seniors at events hosted by the L.A. Community Investment Department across L.A. LADWP Interim General Manager David W. Hanson participated in events at senior centers in Lincoln Heights and South L.A., emphasizing LADWP's commitment to protecting vulnerable seniors from rising summer temperatures. The program, part of the Cool LA Initiative, helps older adults stay safe, healthy, and cool during extreme heat.

LADWP secured 300 megawatts of renewable solar energy for customers via the Utah Solar 1 Power Sales Agreement with the Southern California Public Power Authority. That’s enough to power over 214,000 L.A. homes! With this agreement, L.A. moves closer to our goal of 100% renewable energy by 2035.
