Pure Water Los Angeles was jointly launched in 2024 by LASAN and LADWP to create a new, sustainable supply of drinking water by purifying recycled water. Successful planning and implementation for this project calls for feedback from community members and other local stakeholders.

To continue the community engagement for Pure Water Los Angeles, two virtual community meeting will be held on May 28 and June 7, 2025. Both meetings will contain the same information about Pure Water Los Angeles and provide opportunities to ask questions and receive answers.

We also want to hear about your ideas for future meetings and outreach events.

Metallic Balloon Safety

A set of graduation mylar balloons with power lines in the background.

As graduation and other celebratory seasons approach, LADWP encourages Angelenos to be mindful of metallic balloon safety.

Metallic balloon contact with electrical equipment, like power lines, is one of the most common causes of power outages in Los Angeles.

Please remember to properly secure and deflate after use. Doing so will help prevent them from floating into power lines and causing power outages.

If you encounter any incidents, please call 1-800-DIAL DWP and for any downed wires, please stay away and call 911 immediately.
