Honoring Our Veterans


In observance of Veteran's Day, we're honoring our employee veterans who served our nation with a special photo exhibit cared by their co-workers. Today, these employees proudly serve L.A. by supporting vital water and power services. This exhibit is open to the public in the lobby of the our headquarters, the John Ferraro Building, at 111 N. Hope Street.

Application Period is Open for Community Emission Reduction Grants


As we transition to a clean energy future, environmental justice is among our top priorities. To that end, LADWP is investing in local projects through the Community Emissions Reduction Grants Program help reduce emissions in the L.A. communities hardest hit by pollution sources, such as refineries and truck traffic.


LADWP is providing grants ranging from $100,000 to $500,000 to help fund innovative projects that reduce emissions in the Harbor and Northeast San Fernando Valley communities, located in Council Districts 2, 6, 7 and 15.

The Community Emission Reduction Grants Program application period is open through December 13, 2024.

Stay Warm and Save Energy with Heat Pump Rebates


Stay warmer this winter – and cooler next summer – with a heat pump! Heat pumps can warm your space or cool it with a single unit.


Residential customers can now receive rebates up to $300 per ton for qualified HVAC central heat pumps, and up to $1,500 per unit for qualified heat pump water heaters.

Youth Ages 14-17: Apply to Attend the EmpowerLA Youth Conference at L.A. City Hall

Applications are officially open for the 2025 EmpowerLA Youth Conference, happening Saturday February 22, 2025! Young people between the ages of 14-17 from across Los Angeles are invited to apply to attend this day-long event focused on civic engagement, local government, and community impact.


L.A.’s Neighborhood Council system is the community-based arm of the City government. Conference attendees will explore the role the Neighborhood

Council system plays in grassroots democracy, attend learning sessions on ways to be civically engaged, network with other young leaders, engage with City leaders, and more.


Breakfast and lunch are provided.


Applications are due Friday, December 20, 2024.

Partnering with Neighborhood Councils

We're the only department in the City of Los Angeles with a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Neighborhood Councils committing to regular and ongoing communication about our programs and policies.


The DWP-NC MOU Oversight and Advocacy Committees meet every first Saturday of the month at 8:30 a.m. Meetings are broadcast via webcast. Join us!
