City of Los Angeles Recycled Water Fill Station Reopens for 2026 Season

The Recycled Water Fill Station program returns to the City of Los Angeles to offer free water to qualifying residential customers, for use in gardens, landscaping and irrigation. The program is part of the City’s efforts to promote water conservation and educate LADWP customers on the important role recycled water plays in our sustainable water future. To be eligible to receive free recycled water at the fill station, customers must complete a brief training class. Upon completion, they will receive up to 300 gallons of recycled water per visit. 

Notice of Preparation Comment Period for the Substation Program

LADWP is conducting the environmental review for the Substation Program, a citywide effort to modernize and strengthen LA’s electric grid by building new substations and upgrading existing facilities. The Notice of Preparation (NOP) public comment period is open through October 16, 2026. Community members are encouraged to participate and share feedback.

Mayor Bass and Councilmember Monica Rodriguez Join LADWP Leadership to Celebrate Major Seismic Water Infrastructure Milestone in the San Fernando Valley

Mayor Karen Bass, Councilmember Monica Rodriguez (CD 7), Board of Water and Power Commissioners President Allan Marks, and Interim LADWP General Manager David W. Hanson gathered at LADWP’s Sylmar WEST training facility to celebrate the completion of the nation’s largest and longest large‑diameter Earthquake Resistant Ductile Iron Pipe, a key milestone in the Foothill Trunk Line project. Crews installed more than 22,000 feet or approximately 4 miles of seismic drinking water pipe designed to withstand earthquakes and ensure long-term water reliability with full project completion expected by 2032.
