STUDIO TOUR AND FARMER'S MARKET

The Studio Tour is less than two weeks away, and there is about a month of Farmer's Market Saturdays for sales. If you aren't participating in the Studio Tour as an artist, it is well worth the time to bring your family and friends to different studios where you can engage artists in their processes, and inspiration. The image above is a selection of tools and components of Tina Finneran's jewelry, one of the Studio Tour artists. She is featured in an article below.

Farmer's Market:

Lopez Island Farmer's Market has about one month left. Whether you are a vendor or not, many opportunities for advertising are available at the Market.

LAG Studio Tour Booth: The LAG has a booth at the Market to help advertise the Studio Tour. You can sign up to sit at the booth and talk with visitors about your studio and work.

LAG Artist Notebook: You can provide a tear sheet (one page with your art information) in the artist's notebook that visitors can flip through to learn about Lopez artists. This notebook is available at the FM Studio Tour Booth. You do not need to be part of the Studio Tour to include a page in the notebook.

Sales Booth: You can have a booth on individual Saturdays; for more information contact the Market Manager Noreen by emailing or stop by on Market days.

LIFM Website. If you already have a booth, you can email information and pictures you would like on your page to Stina.

STUDIO TOUR: VISIT YOUR FELLOW ARTISTS

The Lopez Island Studio Tour is one of the biggest art events on the island. It is an excellent way to feature and sell your art, and a wonderful event for locals and visitors alike. If you aren't one of the artists on the tour, please visit some of the open studios, and bring your family and friends. Anything you can do to help promote this event helps us all. Studio Tour guidebooks and postcards are available at the Lopez Island Farmer's Market LAG booth. And don't forget: Studio Tour Opening Preview Show is 5 pm - 6:30 pm, Friday August 29th.

FEATURED ARTIST: TINA FINNERAN

Tina Finneran has been making jewelry on Lopez Island since the 1990s and has been a member of Chimera Gallery since 1994. Her work with precious metals (silver or gold) often features fossils and interesting gemstones, as well as high quality freshwater pearls. Tina’s early work progressed from making beaded jewelry to more complex pieces that involve torch work and keumbu (22 karat gold foil fused on fine silver).

She is part of the Studio Tour at the Lopez Island Grange, along with Terri Roush (glass), Becky Tilles (glass), Sandy Bricel Miller (watercolors and prints) and Linda Ann Vorobik (botanical art and hand-painted silks). Visit Tina at the Studio Tour to hear more about her processes and how she gathered her materials for her work, including south sea saltwater pearls. The image below is a pin featuring an ammonite (marine cephalopod mollusk) fossil placed in silver.

Please put a capital at the beginning of each word. Send label content as a Word file so that Brooks can edit, copy, and paste. Brooks will make all labels uniform with respect to format and font.
