ENVIRONMENTAL PATROL KEEPS IT GREEN AT LOWER SCHOOL CAMPUS
Lower School students take their job on the Environmental Patrol Team seriously as they visit each classroom daily and ensure the lights are turned off, the trash and recycling are correctly sorted, and that the AC and projector are turned off.

SPIRIT OF LAGUNA JOGATHON & FESTIVAL
It's not too late to help with the Spirit of Laguna Jogathon & Festival taking place Friday, October 20 at 3PM. Join the final Jogathon Committee meeting this Wednesday, October 18 in the gym foyer.
ATHLETICS CORNER
SOPHIA FAY NAMED SCHOLAR ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
On the volleyball court,  Sophia Fay '18  is an outstanding back-row defender, digging practically everything that gets past the blockers. Like the hard-driven spikes she handles as the team’s libero, Fay takes academics head on scores high marks.

The Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table recognized Fay for her scholastic achievements by naming her Laguna Blanca’s Scholar Athlete of the Year at Monday’s press luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.

CROSS COUNTRY SWEEPS MEET AT HOME
Aura Carlson '18 led a Laguna Blanca sweep in the first three places as the Owls won the Condor League cross country meet on our home course.

Carlson was clocked in 24:38, just edging out teammate Pisci Abrego '20 by one second. Laguna's Daisy Finerock '21 took third in 25:13 and teammate Julia Guglielmo '20 was fifth in 26:16 as the Owls won the team competition with 27 points, nine ahead of Midland.

GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL TAKES SANTA BARBARA HIGH IN FOUR SETS
Santa Barbara High jumped on CIF-ranked Laguna Blanca in the first set Tuesday night, but the Owls quickly regrouped and took the non-league girls volleyball match in four sets at J.R. Richards Gym. The scores were 20-25, 25-8, 25-16, 25-18.

"It was nice to see us respond from not playing very well in the first game, that's something that we needed," Laguna coach Jason Donnelly said. "We were able to let that go and play some of our best volleyball."

MYLAGUNA TIP OF THE WEEK:
HOW TO ACCESS YOUR CHILD'S HOMEWORK
You've done all the hemming and hawing about whether or not to get your kid an iPhone and you’ve decided to take the plunge. Now what? There’s so much to figure out, from Safari to iMessage, not to mention the Wild West of the App Store, where kids have access to everything from Candy Crush to Tinder. How can you possibly keep them safe, out of trouble, and away from content that’s too intense for them?

SAVE THE DATE FOR OWLS IN WONDERLAND 2017!
Owls in Wonderland is a whimsical day of interactive learning and creative play for all of our Lower School students. It's also a perfect opportunity to invite your friends to explore Laguna Blanca!
