ABOUT THE PLAY
Set in December 1936, Broadway star William Gillette--who is admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes-- has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is murdered, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. It is then up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.

NINTH GRADER NICOLE KHODABANDEHLOU IS BAKING UP COOKIES & HOLIDAY CHEER FOR THIS SATURDAY'S ANNUAL BAKE SALE TO BENEFIT THE UNITY SHOPPE
Laguna ninth grader  Nicole Khodabandehlou is once again baking from the heart this holiday season. Nicole, along with her brother Kevin Khodabandehlou '20 and classmate Connor Koke '22 , are working hard to prepare for Nicole's fourth annual holiday bake sale being held this  Saturday, December 8 from 10AM-5PM at the Santa Barbara Design Center on 410 Olive Street (next to SB Home Improvement Center). All proceeds will be donated to the Unity Shoppe .

The Unity Shoppe has been near and dear to Nicole since fourth grade, when she invited Unity’s Director of Operations Barbara Tellefson to Laguna’s Fourth Grade Citizenship Breakfast. Nicole has been volunteering at Unity ever since. In addition to her annual bake sale, she volunteers at the Unity Shoppe by stocking shelves with donations and helping families with their Christmas shopping.

Last year, Nicole's treats brought in over $2,500, and she hopes to reach $3,000 this year!

All are invited to come by and purchase some delicious sweets for a good cause. After the bake sale, Nicole will head over to the Unity Shoppe to donate her proceeds at the annual telethon.
ABOUT THE SOCK CLUB
Through the donation of socks and other items, the student-run Sock Club is dedicated to bridging the gap between the Laguna community and the at-risk population of Santa Barbara while making genuine connections with people from a wide variety of social and cultural backgrounds.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
Next Tuesday, December 11, the Sock Club will host an outreach training session from 5:15 to 6PM in Laguna's library. This session will focus on providing students and faculty outreach participants with the concrete tools of engagement that help make interactions within the at-risk community as safe, respectful, and constructive as possible. This session is open to any and all interested members of the community who want to join the Sock Club in the work they do.
THERE'S STILL TIME TO DONATE TO LAGUNA'S 2018 FOSTER CARE HOLIDAY GIFT DRIVE
Foster Child Holiday Gift Drive remains a favorite of many on the Hope Ranch campus. At any given time, there are about 280 kids in SB county in foster care. Over the course of a year, about 500 kids will have been in foster care in SB county. E ach year, LBS does its part to make the holiday season a little brighter for many of these children without permanent homes.

On Wednesday, 12/5, students in grades 5-8 were able to deliver on 100 requests from foster children that Laguna received from CASA. Thank you to all who have contributed so far!

If you were unable to bring in a contribution to the drive on Wednesday, there is still time! Tomorrow morning (12/7), CASA will be back on campus to pick up more donations. Please deliver your contribution to Ms. Valentine's office in the Middle School by 10AM.
