LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED ON I-264 WEST
FOR INTERCHANGE PROJECT
VIRGINIA BEACH – As progress continues on the I-64/I-264 Interchange Improvements Project, motorists should anticipate single- and double-lane closures on I-264 west from just west of Independence Boulevard (exit 17) to just west of Witchduck Road (exit 16), starting as early as Feb. 6.

During this time, crews will implement a consecutive closure of the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane (far left lane) in this location, expected to be in place for approximately six weeks. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, crews will close a second, adjacent lane in this location.

These lane closures will allow crews to safely construct median barrier and perform paving operations.

Under a normal operating schedule, the westbound HOV lane on I-264 west in this location would be restricted to vehicles with two or more occupants from 6-8 a.m.
