The Los Angeles ABOTA Jack Daniels Trial School will take place on July 25-27, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. The Trial School hasn’t taken place since 2019 due to Covid, so we are excited to reinstitute the program this year. This shall serve as a Call for Student Applicants. The ten students in each class will be five representing plaintiffs and five representing defense. The students are asked to present voir dire, opening statement, direct and cross examination and closing argument based upon the course materials. The ABOTA judges will critique the students on their performances offering both positive and negative feedback as well as tips for improvement where necessary.
The purpose of this course is to enhance the participant's skills as a trial attorney. It is an intense and demanding course, that has the participant on their feet arguing, questioning, and developing their skills. The emphasis of the course is on developing trial techniques and skills rather than knowledge of substantive law.
The application deadline is July 12, 2023.
Applications should be submitted early as space is limited and fills up fast.
