LANGSTON IS LAUNCHING A RELIEF FUND TO SUPPORT LAW STUDENTS IMPACTED BY COVID-19!

Langston has always been committed to supporting minority law students to help them succeed in the legal profession. During the current pandemic, law students need our support more than ever. In response, Langston is launching a Relief Fund to help these students deal with the difficult challenges they are experiencing right now.

Normally during this time, law students would be taking their final exams, excited about starting summer associate positions, 3Ls would be getting ready for graduation and their bar preparation. However, the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent economic downturn has left most law students extremely anxious about their future.  Law schools are shuttered, law students are studying and taking their finals remotely, in-person graduations have been cancelled along with work-study positions and clerkships, and the Bar Exam has been postponed. The adverse impact on the job market, the economic impact on individuals and families, and the emotional impact on students’ well-being is tremendous. Today’s law students face unprecedented challenges and these current circumstances impact minority law students disproportionately.

#LANGSTON4STUDENTS is a Relief Fund to benefit law students and provide essential resources to those affected by the Covid-19 crisis.

I understand that all of us are facing uncertainties and challenges. I also understand that everyone’s ability to help is different. Please consider making a donation of any amount to support the needs of the law students. They are our future. #OurLegacyOurFuture.

Thank you for being a part of this community, a community that I am proud to be a part of.
Stay well,

Nyanza Shaw, Esq.
