President's Message

Greetings Langston Family!

I hope you are well. There are many exciting developments to report this month, including our preparations for the Langston Annual Picnic at Kenneth Hahn Park on Saturday, June 18 and the confirmation of Sherilyn Peace Garnett as a District Judge for the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.

While we are optimistic about these developments, I would be remiss not to mention the recent loss of former 2016 Langston President, Kimberly R. Willis Gagnier. Kim was a titan in the Los Angeles legal community – including as a Deputy City Attorney and through her involvement with the California Association of Black Lawyers and the Association of Black City Attorneys. She led this organization with honor and dignity, and Langston is better off due to Kim’s leadership. We ask that you keep Kim’s family, friends, colleagues, and mentees in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you for all you do and your continued support for Langston. We look forward to seeing you soon.

All the best!

Daniel Prince, Esq.

What does this unlikely pair

have in common?

THEY BOTH LOVE GOD, FAMILY,

THE LAW AND MUSIC!

Lead Guitarist Ludlow and vocalist Doc Martin combine elements of Soul, Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz and Rock, and bring life to songs that incorporate topics on social justice and empowerment. BROWNSUEDE hopes to uplift, while simultaneously giving you a little sumthin-sumthin that makes your head automatically nod in rhythm.

One of BROWNSUEDE the most proud and honored moments was paying tribute to the late American rapper Nipsey Hussle, by dedicating their song, Fade Away in memory of Nipsey and the vision he tried to inspire. Listen to Fade Away on YouTube HERE
