LAP Bulletin
This bulletin is to announce the publication and immediate use of two revised NFRC 701 documents.

NFRC LAP Documents

The NFRC 701.04 and 701.06 were approved by the NFRC Board of Directors to be implemented for use immediately upon publication.

  • NFRC 701.04-2020 E0A1, NFRC 102 Thermal Test Reporting Requirements. This document was revised for additional reporting information so an area-weighted emittance can be determined in accordance with NFRC 102-2020.

  • NFRC 701.06-2020 E0A1, NFRC 400 Air Leakage Reporting Requirements. This document was revised for clarification of relative humidity to be reported, as well as the newly implemented relative humidity correction factor introduced in latest edition of ASTM E283.

These documents (along with the redline versions) may be found on the Program Documents page of the NFRC website. Non-NFRC members may access the documents by clicking on this link to the Program Documents page on the NFRC website .

Technical Bulletin
This bulletin is to announce the publication and immediate use of NFRC 102-2020 E0A0, and subsequent revision to the 2010 Technical Interpretations Manual (E2A27).

  • The NFRC 102 was reaffirmed as a 2020 document last year but publication was suspended until the proposed additions from the Spring 2020 NFRC Meeting ballot of NFRC 102 was approved. The addition was the implementation of an area-weighted surface emittance (frame, sash, glazing and surround panel for which the product in installed for testing) that shall be used to calculate a standardized U-factor.

  • The 2010 Technical Interpretations Manual was updated as an errata to rescind TI-2011-11 because of the publication of NFRC 102-2020 E0A0. TI-2011-11 was a provisional means to calculate the standardized U-factor calculation for products tested with an interior surface exposed LowE coatings but NFRC 102-2020 shall now manage that process.
The documents may be found on the Technical Documents page of the NFRC website. Non-NFRC members may access the documents by clicking on this link to the Technical Documents page on the NFRC website .
