Assistant Professor Alpa Nawre has a chapter 'Managing Water in the Land of the Asian Monsoons: A planning Alternative for Naya Raipur, India' in the peer-reviewed publication 'European and Asian Sustainable Towns' (ed. Pascaline Gaborit) PIE Peter Lang, Brussels. Publication available here.
Brent Chamberlain presented "A New Visibility Analysis Toolset" under the The Socio/Human Factor in Design session at  the ESRI International User Conference in San Diego on July 16.

Assistant Professor Huston Gibson will be presenting "Small Town Parks as Community Cultivators: A Study into the Dynamics of Social Space in Rural KS" at the 2014 CDS Annual Conference. The presentation is based on the work Professors Beamish, Canfield and Gibson did with their respective two courses in Jetmore.

Associate Professor Lee Skabelund will be hosting a tour of the International Student Center rain gardens for the Junior Explorers on July 23.
The family of John Wilhm, MRCP '72, established the John Wilhm Memorial Fund, M47059, with the Kansas State University Foundation, honoring John's dedication to the department as an adjunct faculty member and recipient of our college's Distinguished Service Award.
The Planning and Law Division of the American Planning Association has announced that it is accepting application submissions from planning students and law students for its 2014-15 Daniel J. Curtin, Jr. Fellowship. Click here for the application.
Judson Gladin, BLA '06, and Kurth Lancaster, BLA '03,recently received their Kansas Certificate of Licensure for Landscape Architecture.
The FHMPO is in the process of developing the region's first long-range transportation plan called the Flint Hills Transportation Plan.This multimodal effort will take about 18 months and will heavily rely on public input. There will be two meetings open to the public.
