Monday Memo 08.01.16

The 2016 - 2017 LARCP Calendar of Events  is linked in the right column of this page. The Dean's office has confirmed the new date for Mock Interviews (Oct 17) and that is reflected on the calendar now.

This is a heads up -- Faculty/Staff head shots are scheduled for 10 am on Monday, Aug 15, immediately following the APDesign Faculty/Staff meeting in S106. Those not available at that time will need to visit Communications and Marketing to have a new photo taken.
The landscape architecture community planning and design studio partnered with K-State Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) and the Omaha Housing Authority (OHA) this summer. Led by Associate Professors  Blake Belanger and Howard Hahn, the studio provided visionary ideas for redeveloping Southside Terrace, a 30-acre public housing project located four miles south of Downtown Omaha, to better serve the social, environmental, and economic needs of the 1,300 residents. On July 12 the students delivered final presentations to project partners in Omaha. The studio book,  Southside Retrace, and posters will be available for download through the K-State library system in the coming weeks.

Associate Professor Jason Brody presented "Discourses in the evolution of downtown Kansas City: Implications for governance" at the  IV World Planning Schools Congress,  July 3-8 in  Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
