John Keller is hosting 30 plus Australian planning students during their visit to Manhattan Monday and Tuesday this week. The leader of the group Trevor Budge, Manager of Strategy for the City of Greater Bendigo, Victoria, will make a presentation this morning, Monday, November 2, "Downunder:  Different Perspectives - But Pursuing Similar Objectives," at 8:30 am in Seaton 63.

GHOSThattan (BOXhattan's scary cousin) was hosted by the Student Planning Association (SPA) on Friday, Oct. 30 for the 4th Grade class at Woodrow Wilson Elementary. 

Assistant Professor Huston Gibson and Dr. Elaine Johannes, School of Family Studies and Human Services, will present on the topic of rewarding community-engaged scholarship in departmental governance in the Brown Bag Engagement Seminar Series sponsored by the Center for Engagement and Community Development and the Staley School of Leadership Studies. The seminar will take place November 6, 2015 from 9-10 am in the Leadership Studies Building, room 247.

LA Faculty attending the national ASLA meeting in Chicago, November 5-9, are Brent Chamberlain, Stephanie Rolley and Chip Winslow. Stephanie Rolley also will attend the Landscape Architecture Foundation Board Meeting and report to the ASLA Board of Trustees on behalf of the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board. 

Katie Leise, MLA '15, will be honored as the KSU Olmsted Scholar at the Landscape Architecture Foundation Gala, November 5.
Green Action Fund proposals are due November 20. Proposal requirements and information about the fund are available here

The PGASLA Awards Lunch will take place in Manhattan,
 April 23-24. There will be a public "Go See It!" lecture about the Discovery Center green roof and other sustainable landscape features on Friday evening. Saturday will feature a walking tour of sustainable campus landscapes and the awards lunch.

Kansas State University Global Campus is currently accepting
 course proposals for May (May 16-June 3) and August (Aug. 1-19) 2016 intersessions. Please talk with Stephanie about any plans to submit a proposal. With approval, you may submit your intersession courses through the online form or contact the intersession program coordinator, Jo Maseberg-Tomlinson, at or 785-532-2570.

The 12th annual Community Capitals Institute (CCFI) invites abstracts from those interested in presenting a paper, workshop or poster session. The institute will be held from Jan. 5-7, 2016, in Turrialba, Cartago Province, Costa Rica. Click here for more information.
