3rd year MLA students presented their final site design for a new daycare facility to members of Manhattan's First Christian Church congregation in December. The project was a collaboration between Professor Winslow's Design Implementation class and Assistant Professor Canfield's Planting Design studio.

Welcome back! Seaton Hall is buzzing with construction activity and the faculty and staff are busy preparing for the first day of classes. Here are a few announcements to start of the semester:

The Commerce Bank Undergraduate Teaching Award is one of the top teaching awards at Kansas State.  Student nominations are highly valued and I urge you to nominate a faculty member who has inspired you. The first step in the process is for you to provide Lisa Shubert, lisash@ksu.edu, with your Notice of Intent to Nominate by Wednesday, January 13. The full nomination package is due January 27. For specific information, including faculty who are not eligible due to prior awards, click here.

New semester, new work space! The new semester gives you an opportunity to move to a new studio desk. When APDWest opens on Wednesday, January 13, you will find a brightly colored piece of paper tags on each desk indicating availability. You may find a note indicating that you must select a different desk. The east end of the LARCP space will be home to architecture students. APDWest space has been reallocated, reflecting student numbers for the spring semester. Prime real estate opened up as 4th year students packed up to leave campus and there are excellent work spaces available. Desks may be claimed, first come, by writing your name on the piece of paper. Selections must be made and your materials moved by 5:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19.

Please let me, Jody and Rachel know if you have any questions or need assistance as the semester begins.
