Naomi is a Senior Sociology Major who will teach students how to use the free design tool, Canva! Students will leave the session with a new design that they can incorporate on their LinkedIn pages.

Tips and Tricks: Microsoft Word and Google Suite with Matthew

Matthew is a first-year studying Biological Sciences and will teach students the ins and outs of Microsoft Word and Google Suite to learn features you may not know existed.

Career Readiness: Building Connections with Meerage

Meerage is a transfer student studying Management and Psychology. Hear Meerage’s personal journey about the importance of multicultural understanding and strategies for connecting with students, mentors, and UIC organizations.
Registration FYI
Mandatory First-Year Advising: All first-year students must complete a mandatory appointment with their assigned LAS academic advisor in both the fall and spring terms of their first year in order to be able to register for classes for the next semester.
Time Ticket: Each student has a unique date and time to register for classes.
Holds: Financial or Required Advising holds need to be cleared in order to register for classes on time. Make sure you do not have any holds that prevent your registration.
Degree Audit: An individualized comprehensive report that reflects academic progress in the LAS degree. Learn how to access and read your Degree Audit via my.uic.edu.
XE Registration: The registration system where students search for UIC classes, prepare for registration and register for classes. Check out more XE Registration tips.

The Orientation Leader application for the 2020-2021 season is now available! Join the team and assist new UIC students and their family members during summer orientation programs and other UIC transition events through the year. Orientation Leaders will share their experiences and act as a mentor and leader to the newest members of the UIC community. The application deadline is November 20.
