NEW MEMBERS 2022
BELLA'S FLOCK
11 Division Street E
763-260-4700

I was raised in a farming family, with many of my relatives having milking cows and pigs. We had beef cattle, horses and a chickens, but never was I around anyone with sheep. Ana Mika, owner of Bella's Flock, was introduced to sheep as her daughter got involved in their local 4-H club. Bella, is the leader of their flock of Icelandic sheep. They have 9 ewes and 1 ram making their flock of 10 complete.

Ana was heavily involved with the 4-H club, founded the Crow River Food Council and believes in supporting small businesses and small farms. She uses only US makers and mills, which are smaller. Sometimes it takes 9 months to 1 year to get the wool back and ready to create something with. She currently is an online social media marketing consultant. She brings all this knowledge to her newly opened retail store in downtown Buffalo. She enjoys how having the store brings the supporting local, creating with your hands and supporting the community all together.

She offers the supplies, education and equipment needed to create unique items that are handmade, whether needle felting, spinning or framed weaving. This is fiber art - not knitting or crocheting. Super fun things and a great way to try something new this winter!

Go to her website above - you will see all he classes she offer.
AMBASSADORS ON THE MOVE
LILLIANS
10 Central Ave
Th: 10-6
Fri/Sat: 10-5

Lillians has been in Buffalo as a Chamber member for now going on 18 years! As most of you know, I own Lillians, and I want to personally thank you for shopping local and supporting us all these years. Though Lillians has changed locations a few times the focus on serving women has never altered. It's all about making a woman feel good when they come in the doors. Lililans is a place where friends are made - whether you buy something or not.

What started out as handbags and accessories years ago is now primarily fashion and accessories. Lillians offers women's fashion, footwear, jewelry, handbags, sunglasses, and other accessory items that complement a women's closet or handbag.

Lillians is open every Thursday through Saturday and on Sundays of the occasional sale weekend. Right now, there are a lot of items discounted as low as 75% off to make room for spring! Are you going on a warm vacation this winter? There is a lot of spring options already on the floor, including new shoes and sandals! I know - hard to think about with the white stuff outside, but it sure brightens your day to see color back in the store and your closet!

Stop in this weekend and check out all the goods! ALL the stores are open for the occasional sale weekend, all loaded with new things for you!

Below are Ambassadors Jennifer Carlson/ American Family Chris Chapman Agency and Tina Anderson/Anchor Realty with me in the middle.

NEW FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE AND FEDERAL LAW POSTERS FOR 2023 AND NEW MILEAGE RATE

The State’s Department of Labor and Industry (MNDLI) announced Wednesday that Minnesota’s minimum wage rates will be adjusted for inflation on January 1, 2023; $10.59 an hour for large employers, and $8.63 an hour for other state minimum wages.

With this increase comes the following requirements:
·        Large employers with annual gross revenues of at least $500,000 must pay at least $10.59/hour
·        Small employers with annual gross revenues of less than $500,000 must pay at least $8.63/hour
·        The youth wage rate, $8.63 an hour, may be paid to employees younger than 18 years old

FEDERAL LABOR LAW POSTERS FOR 2023
Businesses are required to post federal and state labor law posters to clearly inform employees of their legal rights, benefits and procedures on how to report potential violations. These clear lines of communication help you establish fair, safe and legal workplaces for your employees. Failure to comply with posting requirements can lead to hefty fines and legal liabilities.

Click the following links to purchase your 2023 English and multilingual labor law posters via our Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.

MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT RATE FOR 2023
The mileage rate was increased .03 cents for 2023 - the third time in 12 months it was upped. The rate to reimburse for business use of a personal vehicle this year is 65.5 cents/mile.
