MEET THE SPEAKERS
Type Drives Communities features an astonishing array of designers, all highlighting their experiences from across the globe. As we enter the final hours before kickoff, here are a few more who are bound to inspire you!

FINDING YOUR TRUE SOUTH
MARIANA ÁLVAREZ URIBE, SOL MATAS, RUBÉN FONTANA, YANI ARABENA, GUILLE VIZZARI, DIEGO VAINESMAN, FERNANDA COZZI & ALE PAUL
Up until the early 1980s, most Latin American typographers were looking up to their peers in the north. In Argentina and elsewhere, newly recovered democracy opened the doors to professionals, teachers, and students to study the unexplored field of typography in their own language. Today, the world is now looking South to Latin America for inspiration.

DESIGNING WITH MULTIPLE UNKNOWNS
LISA HUANG, MULTISCRIPT TYPE DESIGNER
Developing Noto Sans Nüshu to join the large Noto Sans family brought acclaimed type designer Lisa Huang into multiple unfamiliar territories, both theoretical and literal. But thorough research, explorations, and exchanges with actual users of the Nüshu script, combined with a focus on its nature made it all possible, even during the pandemic.

TYPESEEING
GIANG NGUYEN, ARIEL SEOANE, PANOS VASSILIOU & LAURA MESEGUER
Throughout the conference, TDC Members from around the world will take us on highly visual tours of their home cities and the typographic forms they see, showing us how it influences their design sensibilities. Over the two days, we'll hear from Ho Chi Mihn, Vietnam's Giang Nguyen; Ariel Seoane, representing Montevideo, Uruguay; Panos Vassiliou guiding us through Athens, Greece; and Laura Meseguer showing us her Barcelona, Spain influences.
Add these creatives to the many others we've showcased over the past few weeks and you'll see that Type Drives Communities is an incredible way to go on a typographic trek this weekend. See you tomorrow!
