TRANSFORMING RELATIONSHIPS:

EXPLORING THE KARPMAN DRAMA TRIANGLE IN ACTION

The Karpman Drama Triangle can be one way to understand toxic interpersonal connections and unhealthy internal beliefs. It is often an unconscious dynamic that tends to create pain, blame, and shame. At times, everyone gets caught up on the drama triangle as we struggle to understand ourselves and others. This daylong training will utilize action techniques to identify and understand the behaviors of the triangle roles of Victim, Rescuer, and Persecutor.

The Circle of Restoration will be introduced as a model for moving away the drama triangle dynamic and creating meaningful, more authentic relationships. Strategies for helping clients develop roles of assertive expression, empowered action, and healthy connection will be explored. Psychodramatic interventions will be demonstrated and practiced to assist clients in developing these more satisfying roles.
