REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS:
RETHINKING  PUBLIC SPACES
THROUGHOUT MINNESOTA

The Soap Factory’s public space program invites artists to submit proposals for projects outside of The Soap Factory that re-think public spaces, and/or utilize spaces that are often neglected or overlooked. In addition to staff, installation support, and documentation support; The Soap Factory will provide five artists/artist groups with a stipend of $5,000, and two artists/artist groups with a stipend of $10,000 to complete their projects.

Applications must be submitted through Mn Artists.

Deadline: Wednesday, February 22, 2017

The Soap Factory has recently welcomed new board members, Jill Smith, Joseph Butler, Janette Davis, and Naomi Marx, to our team. 

• Jill Smith is a New York City based art consultant primarily focused on the development of arts & cultural programming for public and private institutions.

• Joe Butler has a 30-year background in national and international community organizing, community and economic development and design/project management. 

• Janette Davis has worked in theater, law and economic/community development for over 2 decades. 

• Naomi Marx is a Senior Project Manager with Artspace Projects, Inc., with a decade of arts-development, consulting and underwriting experience.

HIGHPOINT CENTER FOR PRINTMAKING

Highpoint Center for Printmaking's exhibition 'Vortex' displays new work by Alexa Horochowski that was created in the upper levels of The Soap Factory's building.

'Ersatz'  by Alexa Horochowski, 2014

Made originally as part of Alexa Horochowski's 2014 solo exhibition 'Club Disminución' these limited edition sculptures, entitled 'Ersatz', are still available in our online shop.

All profits will go to support The Soap Factory's future programing, including: exhibitions, low cost studio spaces, and local, national, and international residency programs.
