Last week, we highlighted five new California laws designed to strengthen benefits, education, financial stability, and support for veterans and military families. This week, we’re continuing that conversation with two additional laws recently signed by Governor Newsom that address emerging gaps affecting veterans and transitioning service members.
These new laws focus on reproductive health care for veterans and transition support for transgender service members leaving the military. As policies and benefits continue to change at both the state and federal levels, staying informed helps veterans, families, and those who serve them better understand the resources and protections available in California.
This week’s Pulse breaks down what these two new laws do—and what they mean for our veteran community.
