Recycling Guidelines

HOLIDAY TREECYCLING

About 200 tons of holiday trees are recycled into land mulch by the City each year instead of being sent to landfills! An added benefit of the recycling service is the reduction of potential fire hazards and obstructions in the public right-of-way with illegally dumped trees.

Drop-off Collection Hours:

Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm

Saturday - Sunday, 9 am - 2 pm

Drop-off locations

  • Remove decorations
  • Take the tree out of the stand
  • Cut tree in half if they are over 12'
  • Leave trees unwrapped

*Special Collection Date: Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025 at 7:00 a.m. for City-serviced residents.

QUIZ QUESTION ANSWER

Consider reusing or donating unwanted holiday lights before bringing to an HHW/E-Waste event.

The Answer is D., HHW/E-Waste Event!

You should never put holiday lights in your recycling or trash cart.

Holiday lights are considered tanglers and can cause the equipment at the recycling facility to shut down. Residential haulers are also not able to separate strands of lights effectively from other recyclables.
