We're hiring Recycling Outreach Interns! Are you or someone you know interested in recycling, waste reduction, composting, sustainability, the conservation of natural resources, and/or other related fields? These paid positions represent an incredible opportunity for current undergraduate and postgraduate college students to learn and gain hands-on work experience.

Workshops

The City of Long Beach Environmental Services Bureau (ESB) hosts FREE workshops to teach residents about recycling, waste reduction, composting, and more. Workshops are offered in English and Spanish.

• Reduce Waste at Home: Learn strategies to reduce food waste and packaging waste in the kitchen. 
• Learn to Compost: We'll teach you how to set up and maintain a backyard compost bin and vermicompost (worm) bin, see what materials can or cannot be placed in your compost bin, and how to effectively use finished compost. 
• Do It Yourself (DIY) Green and Safe Cleaning: Learn how to make non-toxic cleaning supplies with safe, natural ingredients while saving money and reducing waste.
