The LBFE Boston community gathered in early June to kickoff our 2025 Multigenerational Mixer Series. | | |
Dear Cynthia,
Welcome to the late spring edition of LBFE Boston’s e-newsletter. Since we last shared with you, the organization's intergenerational, social and tech access/skills spring programs wrapped up. We launched our 2025 Multigenerational Mixer Series, participated in a national digital equity conference, kicked off Pride month at City Hall, were awarded a community grant, were featured on WCVB 5 Boston, and so much more! Together, with older adults, younger people, LBFE staff, community partners, and YOU, our supporters and donors, we're combatting isolation and loneliness, and building a more equitable, age-friendly, and socially connected Boston!

This spring, Creative Connections programs were held in Dorchester, Roxbury, Chinatown, Brighton, and the South End. Among these program sites was a day shelter for unhoused older adults.
“Whether it has stemmed from the sensitivity felt in conversing over meaningful poems together, the humor found in creating imperfectly beautiful paintings, the joy of dancing together, or the energy shared in a drum circle, our Creative Connections programs have continued to bring people together in meaningful ways,” said fomer Program Assistant, Sofia.

LBFE Boston’s Gen2GenQ initiative is a mix of formal and casual programming connecting younger and older queer folx in Boston. We'll address important topics like the AIDS crisis, activism, and the experience of coming out in the context of games, casual conversations, and other fun social events.
If you're 18-25 years old or 65+ and would like more information about joining Gen2GenQ, email Levi Enzie, Program Assistant.

WCVB 5 Boston’s Leanna Scachetti recently visited and highlighted part of LBFE Boston’s Digital Dividends program, Tech Cafe, which bridges generations for personalized tech support. At Morville House, students such as Northeastern University’s Meixi assist residents like 90-year-old George in navigating tech. These sessions foster not only digital literacy but also meaningful intergenerational relationships. To read the full story, visit WCVB’s coverage here.
