The entire LBFE Boston community gathered at the Fenway Community Center in April to celebrate community and connection and Global Intergenerational Week.

Dear Cynthia,

Welcome to the spring edition of LBFE Boston’s e-newsletter. Since we last shared with you, the organization's intergenerational, social and tech access/skills programs and creative arts classes have been bustling with activity! LBFE welcomed local press from NBC10 Boston and WCVB Channel 5 to program sites, hosted a special multigenerational mixer in the Fenway neighborhood for the entire community, and launched our spring appeal! Together, with older adults, younger people, LBFE staff, community partners, and YOU, we're building a more age-friendly, socially connected Boston!

Each week students from a Northeastern University service-learning First Year/Advanced Writing (oral history) class and older adults gather at the Peterborough Senior Center for LOTS of talking, learning about each other, playing cards, connecting, and having FUN!

All ages need connection (online and in-person!). Tech Cafe's are a big part of our Digital Dividends program. It's an opportunity for older adults to drop in, bring their devices, troubleshoot tech issues, investigate questions and connect with younger program participants. At Morville House, this intergenerational group has been busy!

Creative Connections Instructor Michelle, from SoulFire Movement, gets the residents at Doris Bunte apartments moving and grooving each week!

Dancing, in any form, helps reduce stress, provides opportunity for social interaction, and improves balance, strength, and flexibility.

In the latest edition of 'Meet My Friend,' meet Cathy, an older adult CitySites participant at a Jamaica Plain program. Co-op student & LBFE Boston Program Coordinator Avery, who interviewed Cathy and wrote this profile shared, "What inspires me most about Cathy is her unwavering commitment to show up for herself every single day." Get inspired by Cathy's story here.

LBFE Boston's Digital Dividends class in South Boston welcomed NBC10 Boston reporter Bianca Beltran, and camera person, Dan, in March. They interviewed older adults and filmed for a segment about preventing fraud and scams. Watch it here!

The entire LBFE Boston community - older and younger program participants, community partners, neighbors, sponsors and staff gathered for Global Intergenerational Week on Thursday, April 10th at our 2nd Annual Multigenerational Mixer at Fenway Community Center!

It was truly a celebration of connection, community, and togetherness. A celebration of the impact intergenerational friendships have on us all. Check out the photo album here!

Stay tuned for more information about our next multigenerational mixer at East Boston Senior Center on Wednesday, June 4th from 1:00-2:30 PM. RSVP here early to reserve your spot!

In March we welcomed Levi Enzie to the LBFE Boston team as Assistant to our newest program, Gen2GenQ. Levi will help foster intergenerational friendships and solidarity in the LGBTQ+ community.
