WHAT IS THE LONG BEACH RECOVERY ACT?
|
|
The City of Long Beach is the recipient of $249 million through the Long Beach Recovery Act (LBRA), which funds various economic, public health and fiscal initiatives critically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Long Beach Recovery Plan focuses on economic, fiscal and public health priorities that promote inclusiveness, effective and prosperous economic and social recovery for Long Beach Residents, business owners and workers.

MEET THE HR RECOVERY TEAM
|
|
Yesenia Rico
Human Resources Officer
Yesenia oversees the Human Resources Recovery Team which provides city-wide human resources support to the departments providing and/or implementing LBRA related programs and services.
Yesenia has both a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Human Resources Management and master’s degree in Public Admin with an emphasis in Urban Affairs from California State University of Long Beach. She received her Human Resources certificate from The International Public Management Association for Human Resources. Ms. Rico has over nine (9) years of HR experience in both the public and private sectors.

Patricia (Patty) Aleman
Administrative Analyst
As the HR Recovery Team's Administrative Analyst, Patty is responsible for developing and applying her human resources knowledge to assist managers, supervisors, and employees in dealing with human resources issues and assist with a variety of human resources projects.
Patty has a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing from California State University of Long Beach. Patty has over three (3) years of working experience within the public sector in which she has learned to understand local government, the city voice, city processes and structure.

Hana Fisher
Personnel Analyst
As the HR Recovery Team's Personnel Analyst, Hana is responsible for developing and applying her human resources knowledge to assist managers, supervisors, and employees in dealing with human resources issues and assist with a variety of human resources projects.
Hana has both a bachelor's degree in Public Admin from California State University of Fullerton and a master's degree in Organizational Leadership from University of Redlands. She has also received an HR Management Certificate from UC Irvine. Hana has over five (5) years of human resources experience.

Cynthia Howell
Long Beach Recovery Officer (HHS)
Cynthia provides oversight, management, and drives the implementation of LBRA Programs across the Health Department. This position collaborates with partner Departments to achieve a successful pandemic recovery, ensure safe and healthy communities of Long Beach. The LBRO directs equitable program design and implementation, manage budgets, and ensures compliance with all City and federal guidelines. Adelita Lopez-Santiago
Business Systems Specialist III (TID)
Adelita will work with Long Beach Recovery Act teams to manage LBRA technology projects and/or technical aspects of Long Beach Recovery Act programs. She will conduct research and identify resources (staff, tools, etc.) in response to LBRA project needs. In her role she is also responsible for creating high level reports and dashboards. She will serve as the TID LBRA Lead and be the initial point of technical support for LBRA-related products. Brianna Jimenez
Recovery Communications Specialist (CM)
Briana Jimenez will serve as the Recovery Communications Specialist in the Long Beach Recovery Office. She will ensure that there is consistent and comprehensive communication across the City’s Recovery Act programs. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Education and Spanish from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has a master’s degree in Urban Education Policy from Brown University. Christina Boatwright
Resource Connections Officer (HHS)
As the Resource Connections Officer, Ms. Boatwright oversees the administrative operations of the Resource Connections Division, managing nearly $4 million in federal, state, and local funding to address trauma, resiliency, support early childhood development and improve access to care throughout the City of Long Beach.
