Message from Athletics Director, Steve Helms

As we look back on the 23-24 academic year and athletic seasons, we see another year of growth for our athletic department with the additions of golf and cross country. We had a total of eight teams competing in six sports. Six of those eight teams qualified for postseason competition. Our expansion has allowed for an increased number of student-athletes to experience junior college athletics, and most importantly, become an LBW Saint. This new, quarterly newsletter will serve to give you a quick update on the athletic department and any special events we might be hosting.

Facility Upgrades

Over the last three years, significant upgrades have been completed to enhance our facilities for players and fans. The Seth Hammett gymnasium upgrades included new lighting, video board, new sound system, and a lobby renovation. The Crum Foshee Field dugouts were replaced, new outfield fencing with padding, new scoreboard, and video board. The softball dugouts were expanded, a new brick backstop and netting were installed, along with a new scoreboard and video board. These improvements have enhanced our facilities tremendously and we continue to plan for future athletic facility expansion.

Our fall seasons are right around the corner with volleyball, cross country, and golf seasons starting in August. Stay up to date with team schedules on our athletic website www.lbwsaints.com. The 24-25 season information should roll over by the first of July.

Support LBW's 9 athletic teams by contributing to our donation page, helping us provide essential resources and opportunities for our student-athletes to thrive both on and off the field, court and course!

Alumni can now sign up online for one-time, annual, or monthly contributions through our LBW Foundation. You can specify if you would like your funds to go to the general athletic fund, or a specific team. These funds help off-set the costs of equipment, uniforms, travel, emergency expenses, and streaming costs.
