In this special edition we will look back over the past year and see the accomplishments made to make the center what it is today and the future it has in store. |

Less than a year ago, what is now known as the Advanced Manufacturing and Material Center (AMMC) began its renovation by breaking ground on August 7, 2022. The new center was originally a student autobody shop classroom. It has become a renovated 14,200 feet building of existing space on campus in order to offer key training areas supporting this industry.

AMMC Receives Funding for the Center |
|
After re-delegating the space to the world of manufacturing, the AMMC worked diligently to gain grant funding in order to make it a collaborative space. Receiving generous contributions from the Laramie County taxpayers in supporting the 6th penny tax, Laramie County Community College Foundation, Wyoming Work Services, and a variety of others as seen below. |

We also thank the U.S. Economic Development Administration for their assistance in purchasing the equipment for the AMMC. |
|
Without this generosity, the AMMC would not be where it is today and we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to these donors and supporters. The AMMC is still receiving grants to help support the center's mission as it will build upon its current operations to serve all aspects of its community, manufacturing industry, and students. |

The AMMC went through extensive renovations to make it a state of the art facility, ready for everyone from community members, students, entrepreneurs, to visitors to see the center in action. |

The AMMC held its Grand Opening on April 14, 2023 with over 200 community members coming out to take their first look at the facility. There was a showcase of the variety of services offered by the center from general training, workforce training, to Zspace and Concept Forge. |

Program Manager, Dave Curry, talks about the meaning of the center and success of its grand opening, "I have had the opportunity to work with industry and community members from around the region to build the first training center of its kind in southeastern Wyoming. The AMMC will serve as a training hub for new workers looking to enter the industry as well as a location for companies from around the region and along the Front Range to send their employees for upgrade training." |

After the Grand Opening, the AMMC hosted its first Family Night where a variety of families attended to learn more about the center has to offer to all ages of learners, from youth camps to adults wanting to prototype a product at the AMMC's Concept Forge. |

The pilot class of the CNC Bootcamp was held this summer from May 22 through July 20, with ten students graduating with the ability to immediately enter the workforce. They learned topics such as introduction to manufacturing, safety, blue print reading, precision measurement, and machine operations. The bootcamp celebrated it's first class completion and will begin preparing for the next session from September 11 through November 17.
Students in the next session and moving forward will have the opportunity to apply for full tuition grants where they can begin their new career at no cost.

Throughout the summer, the AMMC has hosted a variety of youth camps where students of various ages from 8 to 14 have learned how to create programs and items to print through the center's Tinkercad software. Students were able to build their own souvenirs to take home. During the robotics camp, students were able to make robots to compete in an obstacle course. Youth camps were a big hit where students had a lot of fun learning about the world of manufacturing. |

Where the AMMC is Headed Next |
|
Over the past year, since August 7, the AMMC was officially transformed into the magnificent center it is today. It has earned multiple grants and donations to build the center and provide the best experience to all those impacted by it, hosted its first Manufacturing Day, Grand Opening, Family Night, CNC Bootcamp, and various youth camps. Over 500 people have toured the facility, with more seeing the facility daily.
The AMMC continues to grow and mark its place in the manufacturing industry, providing opportunities to the industry, our community, and the students who will begin their career in manufacturing. We look forward to seeing how the center will develop and hope you will join us on this journey, whether it be through attending a tour or event, prototyping in the Concept Forge, or participating in a class. Exciting developments are in store and we hope you join us along the way as the center continues to grow.
