We knew that January was going to be an extremely busy month but it's hard to believe it was that busy! From equipment arriving, to curriculum development to the final bits of construction wrapping up, the AMMC had activity on all fronts.

High Country Crane Service Delivers!

What is this trailer delivering to the AMMC? Although they are extremely well packaged, they are not unwanted Christmas gifts leftover from December. This is the first of five trailer loads of new machining equipment being delivered by High Country Crane Service to LCCC and the AMMC on 23 January.

Seems like August was just yesterday and construction was beginning, now, it is February and construction is wrapping up. Here are a couple of before and after pictures of the CNC bay in the AMMC. We now have new paint, new lighting and new machines that are helping us create a learning space to serve our students, industry and community for years to come!

High Country also delivered our new manual mills and lathes as well as our surface grinder from Kent USA. These pieces complete the major equipment purchase for the AMMC and will allow us to offer a full machine tool technology program to southeastern Wyoming and the entire region.

Upcoming Events

Although we are still a few months away from opening the AMMC, we have posted a couple of jobs on the LCCC Human Resources Job Listings page looking for a part-time administrative assistant and part-time adjunct instructor. These positions will be instrumental as we prepare to offer training.

LCCC Campus Closure LCCC will be closed 20 February for President's Day.

AMMC Grand Opening Barring unforeseen circumstances, we are planning on holding our grand-opening activities on April 14th. CNC Operator Bootcamp We are in the planning phase for a nine-week CNC Operator training program that will serve several purposes. First, the training will prepare students for gainful employment with industry in the area. Second, we can start providing new employees to the workforce. Finally, the training will allow us to test our equipment and ensure everything is in working order. We are aiming for a mid-May start date with training wrapping up prior to CFD. More to follow!
