LCCC Recognized at NCATC Annual Conference
The National Coalition of Advanced Technology Centers (NACTC) held their annual conference September 21-23 in Concord, North Carolina. LCCC was one of 13 new educational partners to join this year into an organization of over 170 institutions around the country. This year’s conference focused on four main pillars:

- Future of Work: Industry 4.0
- Work-Based Learning / Apprenticeships
- Competency-Based Education with Industry-Recognized Credentials
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Adult Education

The opportunities offered by this NCATC membership will allow us to tap into the knowledge stream of institutions around the country that have all been exactly where we are right now…starting a new program. 
"The Largest Manufacturing Trade Show in Colorado"
LCCC attended the Northern Colorado Manufacturing (NOCOM) Trade Show on September 28 and was introduced to industry partners from all along the Front Range. There were 80 booths and over 300 participants from a wide  variety of manufacturing ranging from aerospace to firearms and all points in between. We took one of the Amatrol Skill Boss trainers along with us to introduce attendees to just a few of the many topics that we will be able to cover after the AMMC is operational.  
AMMC Discussions
Although we are still a few months away from opening the AMMC, we have posted a couple of jobs on the LCCC Human Resources Job Listings page looking for a part-time administrative assistant and part-time adjunct instructor. These positions will be instrumental as we move into the early part of 2023 and construction gives way and leads to the opening of the AMMC.
During my visit to North Carolina, I had the opportunity to meet Toni Neary from Haas. Toni is the Director of Education for Haas Factory Outlet and was very helpful in identifying opportunities that are available to institutions like ours. Haas TEC will not only benefit our facility through assistance with classroom materials and professional training but with potential scholarship opportunities through the Gene Haas Foundation.
Upcoming Events
LCCC to Host Manufacturing Day Events
Distinguished guests will be at Laramie County Community College to celebrate Manufacturing Day and the manufacturing industry Oct. 7 in the Center for Conferences and Institutes room 129 on the Cheyenne campus.

Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins, Laramie County commissioners, LCCC President Dr. Joe Schaffer, and Advanced Manufacturing and Material Center (AMMC) Advisory Committee co-chair Brian Gross will make comments. Proclamations acknowledging Manufacturing Day will be signed by the mayor and a Laramie County Commissioner.

AMMC Program Manager Dave Curry will present on the current status of the center. A tour of the Advanced Manufacturing and Material Center, which is under construction, will follow. Maryellen Tast, LCCC School of Outreach and Workforce Development Dean, and Curry will also be available for interviews.
Events are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. with a lunch for non-media attendees. Comments will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m. A 20-minute tour of the lab will take place at approximately 12:30 p.m.
