Advanced Manufacturing and Material Center August Newsletter
For those of you that I have not had the opportunity to meet, my name is Dave Curry and I am extremely honored to have been chosen as the Manager of the Advanced Manufacturing and Material Center (AMMC) at LCCC. This project would not have been made possible without the incredible work completed by an amazing team that has been formed from individuals from around the region. I would like to offer a special thanks to the voters of Laramie County for approving the 6th Penny, our industry partners and to all of those who have put in so many hours in getting us to this point! With that said, I would like to provide a monthly newsletter to keep everyone in the loop as to what is happening in the Center as well as upcoming events that might be of interest to you.
Construction Set to Begin August 3rd!
All the work, all the campaigning, all the meetings, all the discussions with facilities around the country are coming to fruition as construction is set to begin. After remodeling is complete, the 14,500 square foot facility will become home to the AMMC on LCCC’s Cheyenne campus. The photo to your right is of the current entry found on the north side of the Auto Body building but will become the main entrance to the manufacturing center. The building that will house the AMMC with be “re-skinned” with siding that will create a more inviting environment and indicate to all those who see it that something new is happening inside. Construction is set to be completed around the December 21st.     
LCCC Travels to Gateway Technical College
Maryellen and I traveled to Racine, Wisconsin in June to tour Gateway Technical College and review their manufacturing program. Gateway is nationally known for their facilities and to say that they are impressive would be an understatement! Touring their manufacturing floor and FabLab helped us solidify our direction for the AMMC at LCCC. The representatives from Gateway have expressed their interests in working with LCCC in future program development and grant opportunities.
LCCC Applies for NCATC Membership

I am very pleased to announce that LCCC has applied for membership into the National Coalition of Advanced Technology Centers (NCATC). If approved, this membership will allow LCCC to join over 170 other technical and community colleges and 45 cooperate partners from 34 states across the country focusing on creating a skilled workforce. The NCATC/LCCC relationship will help us use “best practices” while focusing on four Strategic Focus Areas: 

1) Future of Workforce: Industry 4.0

2) Apprenticeships, Work-Based Learning and Entrepreneurship in Workforce Development

3) Competency-Based Learning and Industry-Recognized Credentials

4) Adult Education and Learning Opportunities

Northern Colorado Manufacturing Trade Show
Northern Colorado Manufacturing Partnership will to host the 2022 manufacturing trade show on September 28th at The Ranch In Loveland.   
Wyoming Manufacturing Works to Host Yellow/Green Belt Training
With Manufacturing Day being October 7th, LCCC has partnered with Manufacturing Works to present Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belt training opportunities for our local community. The Yellow Belt training will be held on October 3rd and 4th and continuing into the Green Belt course October 5th-7th.
