🐾 Welcome to our newsletter!

Though we wish we were bears and could hibernate for the winter, we’ve actually been very busy! We’re so pleased to have new partners opening up their venues to adoption events, making it easier for you to meet our wonderful kitties.

We hope you’ve had a chance to attend our recent events at Cupboard Maker Books, Consciousness Coffee, Ashcombe Farm & Greenhouses and others. Check out some of our upcoming events below, and follow us on Facebook for regular announcements about upcoming events.

Though summer seems far away still, kitten season – when we start seeing kittens everywhere – will be here soon enough. Check out the video below to find out what to do if you find a kitten that could need help.

Finally, thank you so much for all your support that makes our continuing rescue work possible. We can’t do what we do without the help of this amazing community.

β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή Project Cat Wound Care β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

Cindi Scheib, BSN, RN with PCWC patient Jessie Lynn

PCWC is a 100% volunteer special arm within Loving Care Cat Rescue (LCCR). It was established in 2024 when Cindi Scheib, BSN, RN and Wound Care Specialist for humans, was asked to help an injured cat with a large, deep facial wound of unknown origin.

Cindi had just attended an educational seminar to learn about a newer wound dressing, a transforming powder dressing (TPD), that helps wounds heal from the inside out. She contacted the manufacturer, and they sent free TPD for the cat, whose wound healed completely in 60 days!

Click the button below to read more about this unique program, and how you can help us help more animals, either by volunteering or donating wound supplies.

What to do if you find a kitten

As the weather gets warmer, intact female cats start producing kittens. Over the course of the summer, all rescues and shelters get overwhelmed caring for this abundance of kittens.

We, and many others, will take as many kittens during kitten season as we can possibly care for, but you can help! Did you know that we can help you be a one-time foster with us --- if you find some kittens and want to foster just the ones you found?

But what do you do if you find kittens? Hannah Shaw, known as Kitten Lady, has some great ideas on assessing the situation in this video.

You can watch her video on YouTube!

If you decide that you do have the ability to foster some kittens you found, and you want to consider being a one-time foster with us, check out our foster page and apply!
