Itโs hard to believe that ten years have passed since Loving Care Cat Rescue received its 501(c)(3) on June 14, 2016, to become a nonprofit cat rescue organization. Our founder and director, Lisa Snyder, actively engaged in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return), saw a need for resources to help friendly cats find loving homes. Over the last ten years, over 7,000 cats have been saved by our all-volunteer organization. As we continue to grow and expand our resources, including the recent addition of wound care services, we recognize that none of it would be possible without our incredible fosters and volunteers, generous donors, and loyal supporters. ๐พ Spring Has Sprung!
Spring has officially arrived and so has kitten season. An estimated 20 million kittens are born every spring in the U.S., with stray and feral cats responsible for roughly 80% of them. Such staggering statistics are why Loving Care Cat Rescue is passionate about its mission to save these innocent lives while educating people about the necessity of spay/neuter. As we celebrate our 10-year Anniversary, we are proud of our accomplishments and how far we have come as a rescue organization. Our mission is far from finished, and the work, while daunting at times, is both vital and rewarding because we are making a difference in South-Central Pennsylvania.

Give Local York - Starts April 30 at 7:00 pm
Join us for our 4th year of participating in Give Local York for 24 hours beginning April 30th at 7 pm. Your donations help us support adoptions, medical care and the Compassion Fund. This fund supports members of our community whose cats are experiencing a medical emergency without the funds needed to cover the associated treatment costs.

6th Annual Rock Out For Rescue
Join us for our ๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ง๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐๐ค ๐๐ฎ๐ญ ๐
๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐ fundraiser, with live music by Jimmy and the Parrots. This year is extra special as we are officially celebrating ๐๐๐๐โ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ซ๐ฒ! Weโre turning up the volume at the vineyard for an evening of sun, strings, and fun.

โค๏ธโ๐ฉน Lowering the Rate of Return โค๏ธโ๐ฉน

When an adopted cat returns to Loving Care Cat Rescue, no one wins, especially the cats. It is typically traumatizing for the kitty and means that LCCR has one less opening to rescue a cat in need. While we cannot control every circumstance under which a cat is returned, such as the death of the owner, there are some things we can do. One of them is reminding our adopters to periodically check that the godparent remains willing and able to take the kitty if they are no longer able to care for them. In addition, we are committed to helping adopters with resources in the event they encounter financial difficulties, or the cat is experiencing behavioral issues. Early intervention is key to resolving these issues so the cat can remain in the home. If you need assistance, email us at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com.

The Case of the Expanding Cat: A Rescueโs Guide to Safe Weight Loss
We all enjoy them, those funny memes about fat cats. But Garfield cartoons aside, thereโs nothing funny about an overweight or obese cat. They have problems with cleaning themselves, and are prone to serious medical conditions like diabetes. The extra weight causes mobility problems, and can result in painful arthritis. Being overweight puts extra strain on the cardiovascular system, makes cats more prone to urinary tract infections, and they have a shorter life span. There is hope, however, for slimming down that chubby kitty and it isnโt all that hard: its all about calories and exercise.

For as little as $41.67/month for 12 months, these special benefactors will have a deep impact on the number of cats and kittens LCCR is able to save while receiving exposure to our audience of more than 10,000 adopters, volunteers, and followers.
