Message from the City Manager, Daniel Jordan

Greetings City of La Cañada Flintridge residents,

As we are amid tax and budget season, we're reminded of the role finances play in the trajectory of our City. Just as spring brings a sense of growth, this season prompts us to assess, plan and allocate resources to best serve our community.

In preparation for the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget, the City’s Annual Budget & Financial Plan serves four major purposes to better ensure transparency, accountability and community engagement.

Additionally, the City remains dedicated to promoting public safety and creating resources to enhance the well-being of our residents. As such, we developed a Crime Prevention Diagram to provide residents with tips on how to fortify and protect their homes.

All of these efforts showcase our commitment to the betterment of our City. By fostering transparency and engagement, we are laying the groundwork for a prosperous and secure future.

As always, should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us via phone, email or by visiting City Hall.

With Deep Gratitude,

Daniel Jordan, Ph.D.

City Manager

Budget Update

Did you know that the City’s Annual Budget and Financial Plan is produced by the Finance Department? The budget is designed to serve four major purposes:

  • Define policies in compliance with legal requirements for General Law cities in California, including generally accepted financial reporting requirements, audit standards and fiscal directions of the City Council.
  • Provide an operations guide for staff in the management and control of financial resources.
  • Present the City’s financial plan for the ensuing fiscal year, itemizing projected revenues and estimated expenditures for the various funds.
  • Communicate and facilitate an understanding of the operations and costs of providing various City services to our residents.

Visit CityOfLCF.org/Finance/City-Budget for more information on upcoming public meetings to discuss the FY24-25 budget.
