Bear Safety
If you experience a wildlife incident in LCF, it's important to report it promptly to ensure the safety of our community and the animals.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has an easy, convenient wildlife incident reporting system. Once a report is submitted, CDFW responds both remotely (providing advice and instructions via phone) and on-site (sending wildlife officers to the location). Responses vary depending on the specific incident and level of conflict.
The CDFW explained this system and more in its presentation on living in close proximity to black bears. To view the presentation in its entirety and to learn more about bear safety, visit CityOfLCF.org/Bears. To report a wildlife incident, visit Apps.Wildlife.CA.gov/WIR/Incident/Create.

E-bike Safety
Let's ride safe, LCF!
Recently, there has been an uptick in the number of traffic collisions due to e-bike riders not following traffic laws on City streets. We want to remind parents and all residents of the importance of responsible riding:
- Always wear a helmet
- Use hand signals when turning or stopping
- Ride with the flow of traffic and furthest to the right side of the road
- Yield to pedestrians and other vehicles
- Follow all laws and rules of the road
Want to ensure you and your family are up-to-date on e-bike safety? Enroll in a training course through the California Highway Patrol (CHP) at bit.ly/3VWUguI.
Together, we can protect our community and keep our streets safe for everyone.
