LCF Launching “LCF in the Know” Communications Hub

La Cañada Flintridge is pleased to announce the launch of “LCF in the Know,” a webpage that makes it easy for community members to locate all of the City’s communications.

In the Know will house all of the City’s press releases, archives of the digital newsletter — the LCF Bulletin past editions of the LCF Vista newsletter, links to City social media platforms, summary of proposed ordinances, crime/fire stats and more. In addition, residents can view upcoming annual community events and public safety resources.

LCF in the Know is set to go live on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at CityOfLCF.org/LCF-in-the-know

LCF's Anticipated Clean Power Alliance Partnership

Earlier this month, the City of La Cañada Flintridge hosted a town hall meeting to discuss its upcoming electricity provider shift from Southern California Edison (SCE) to Clean Power Alliance (CPA). Switching to CPA allows residents to choose which electricity provider they want to use, CPA or SCE.

La Cañada Flintridge’s transition to Clean Power Alliance is currently pending the California Public Utilities Commission’s approval, expected in March.

For more information on the Clean Power Alliance and the transition, visit CityOfLCF.org/CleanPowerAlliance.

California Earthquake Brace & Bolt Grant Program

Did you know that LCF residents are now eligible to apply for Earthquake Brace and Bolt (EBB) grants?

The EBB grant program provides California homeowners, including those in LCF, with up to $3,000 toward a residential seismic retrofit to lessen the potential for damage to their houses during an earthquake.

For more information and to apply, visit CityOfLCF.org/ca-Earthquake-Brace-Bolt-EBB-Grant-Program-Opportunity.

Burglary Prevention Tip

Burglaries don't only happen from the front door or windows; backyard entries are also common points of entry. Keep your backyard safe and sound by following these tips:

  • Install a bar or rod in the track of sliding glass doors
  • Lock up bicycles, lawnmowers, and other expensive items in a secure shed or garage
  • Store ladders and tools securely so that they can't be used by burglars to gain access to your home
  • Use motion-sensored lighting to illuminate sidewalks leading to any doors
  • Invest in an alarm system with monitoring and glass-break sensors
