Message from the City Manager, Daniel Jordan

Greetings City of La Cañada Flintridge residents,

Happy holidays! Our staff has been hard at work to provide our community with new programs and updates to our existing initiatives to ensure that this holiday season is a joyous and safe time for our residents and visitors.

Protecting the community of La Cañada Flintridge remains one of our top priorities, and residents need to remain vigilant during the holidays. Through new City-sponsored initiatives like the Security Camera Rebate program, the City is encouraging proactive measures to reduce crime.

Amidst the excitement of the holiday season, we want to ensure that you are also prepared for the upcoming holiday schedule adjustments. City Hall, facilities and services will operate on different schedules, so check our website for information on these changes.

We wish you a happy holiday season full of joy, time with loved ones and memorable moments.

As always, should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us via phone, email or by visiting City Hall.

Please note that the rebate applies to the cost of the camera itself, not installation costs.

The Importance of Having an Alarm System

One practical and proactive measure LCF residents can take to safeguard their homes is investing in a reliable alarm system.

Installing an alarm system is an effective deterrent, signaling potential intruders that the property is protected. An alarm system provides a swift response mechanism in the unfortunate event of a break-in, as modern systems help ensure that law enforcement is promptly notified.

By deterring burglaries, ensuring rapid response and embracing modern technology, residents can fortify their homes and foster a sense of security throughout our beautiful City.

The holiday season brings an increase in package shipments and deliveries left at residences can become a tempting target for criminals. Follow these helpful tips to keep your packages safe:

  1. Leave specific drop-off instructions for delivery drivers.
  2. Set up notifications to track packages to know when they are delivered.
  3. Do not let packages sit on your porch for long periods. Bring packages inside immediately.
  4. Not home? Ask a trusted neighbor to grab your delivery.
  5. If you are on vacation, reschedule delivery or ask for a package hold.
