FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

October 22, 2021

Greetings “Tiger” Families and Students,

What a joy it was to watch our girls and boys Cross Country teams finish their regular season on our home course at Manito Park this Wednesday. The girls finished the season strong and are looking forward to the post season, while our boys team finished the season sharing the GSL title with Mead and North Central. Congratulations to the boys and girls on both teams for competing so well and consistent the entire season and for representing Lewis and Clark in such a remarkable manner. True examples of our “Tigers” displaying the “more” that it takes to be a “Tiger” and how they worked so hard collectively and individually to get better each day and achieve such success this season. The post season races will be fun. “Go Tigers!” Great job girl’s slow pitch softball for a remarkable season, and good luck to football, soccer, and volleyball as you end your regular seasons and prepare for post season.

Other successes include the relentless efforts of our entire staff to support students with testing on Thursday. Much coordination, planning, and effort went into assuring that “testing day” went well and our students worked hard and gave their best effort. Our staff and kids continue to rise to each occasion, and I am so grateful for each day with our staff and students. Challenges arise each day for our staff and students, some we can control, some we can not control, but together we continue to focus on our work. The work of assuring that our school is safe and healthy, students are learning and maximizing their potential, and making the high school experience enjoyable and memorable.

Parent and guardians, your continued support will be needed. Please remind your student of the importance of wearing their mask while in school and covering their noses and mouths, unless they are eating breakfast or lunch. We are reminding students of this daily and your help would be greatly appreciated. Every class, every minute, and every day is important, so share with your student the importance of being on time and prepared to give their best effort.

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe and healthy!

Mr. Corley

Principal

PARKING.png

Student and Parent/Visitor Parking

Parent/Visitor Parking: LC does not have designated visitor parking, so you can park at any of the metered spots across the street. For after-hours events, you can park for free in any of the parking lots under the freeway. The doors to the Commons building are handicap accessible.

Student Drop-off/Pick-Up: Before and after school, 4th Avenue in front of LC is a busy place with school buses and parents competing for limited space. In order to help alleviate congestion, we recommend that parents drop off and pick up students either on 5th Avenue, 3rd Avenue or a block east or west of LC on 4th Avenue. It is important to not park (even for a drop off) in the bus zones.

Student Parking: LC students can park in the two freeway lots (in front of the Field House and in front of the church to the east). Be sure to display your student parking permit to avoid getting a ticket in the student lots. Student parking permits can be purchased in the Business Office for $5. The lot directly in front of the main building and the parking garage are only for LC staff and are monitored for cars without staff permits.

PARENTINVOLVEMENT.png
