FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

October 29, 2021

Greetings “Tiger” Families and Students,

Happy Halloween and/or Happy Friday! I just want to start my message this week with praise and admiration for our entire staff, our teachers, and the leaders in our building who make every day such an enriching and learning opportunity for everyone. I have asked and we have asked teachers and students to engage in routines, procedures, and learning in a variety of ways, and at times, asked them to change or adjust in the spur of the moment. It has been a challenge and hard at times, but our staff and students have risen to each “moment.” As we approach our third month of the school year, I am hopeful that things will settle, and we will continue to work together to assure that our school is providing the best experience for every student.

Our students continue to excel in the classroom and on the field. Teachers and students share that the learning experience in the classroom has been very engaging and enjoyable. Kids are working hard and giving their best effort. On the field, all our teams have performed at a very high level. Our Performing Arts programs have had performances for their family and friends and have done a remarkable job. Impressive work by our teachers and students! Post season competition is coming up soon!

Conferences are set to occur next week. If you have not signed up for your child’s conference, please do so as soon as possible as time slots fill up quickly. This is a great opportunity to connect with the teacher and hear how your student is doing in school and share what supports they need to continue having success. We appreciate your partnership with us.

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe,

Mr. Corley

Principal

PARKING.png

Student and Parent/Visitor Parking

Parent/Visitor Parking: LC does not have designated visitor parking, so you can park at any of the metered spots across the street. For after-hours events, you can park for free in any of the parking lots under the freeway. The doors to the Commons building are handicap accessible.

Student Drop-off/Pick-Up: Before and after school, 4th Avenue in front of LC is a busy place with school buses and parents competing for limited space. In order to help alleviate congestion, we recommend that parents drop off and pick up students either on 5th Avenue, 3rd Avenue or a block east or west of LC on 4th Avenue. It is important to not park (even for a drop off) in the bus zones.

Student Parking: LC students can park in the two freeway lots (in front of the Field House and in front of the church to the east). Be sure to display your student parking permit to avoid getting a ticket in the student lots. Student parking permits can be purchased in the Business Office for $5. The lot directly in front of the main building and the parking garage are only for LC staff and are monitored for cars without staff permits.

PARENTINVOLVEMENT.png

  • LC STAGE - theatre parents
  • LC SAN - Senior All-Nighter parents
