FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

December 3, 2021

Greetings “Tiger” Students and Families,

Although it is the month of December and the temperature outside is usually much colder at this time of the year, we are experiencing much warmer temperatures than usual which has been nice. I’m sure those of you who enjoying skiing and outdoor snow activities are saying, “bring on the snow!”

I hope you enjoyed your most recent holiday break and made many positive memories with family and friends. As we approach another holiday season and work to finish strong academically, socially, and emotionally, I just have a few reminders. These are some challenging times for many of our students, families, and staff members, so I encourage each of you to spend quality time with your children and families and listen to what each other needs to share. Many time, just listening to each other and taking the time can mean so much and make such a positive difference.

We are seeing an uptick in car break- in recently, which is disturbing and frustrating. We are reminding students and staff each day of the importance to assure that their car doors are locked, valuables should not be left in their cars, and if there are any issues, to please report this issue to staff in with office. We work to make a contact with Crime Check and report the incident.

Together, we got this “Tigers!” and have a great weekend.

Mr. Corley

Principal

SpongeBob.png

The SpongeBob Musical

Join us for The SpongeBob Musical December 9 & 10 at 7:00pm and December 11 at 2:00pm in the LC Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students. Over 60 students are in the cast and crew of this incredible production.

Synopsis: We find ourselves in the undersea city of Bikini Bottom, inhabited by happy-go-lucky and ever-optimistic yellow sea sponge SpongeBob and his equally quirky circle of friends and neighbors. SpongeBob’s pleasant existence is abruptly interrupted when it is discovered that Mt. Humongous, a nearby volcano, will erupt within the next 48 hours and completely obliterate Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob, trying to prove to himself and the world that he is not “just a simple sponge,” resolves to save the day when everybody else has given up all hope.Though SpongeBob is incredibly fun and family-friendly, its timeless story of identity, crisis, and community is also a witty allegory that examines and critiques the politics of the modern era, and it does so in such a way where children will appreciate and understand the plot line, while adults can read between the lines and extract even more from the musical’s message. SpongeBob features an eclectic score of music, each song having been written by a different musical artist with the purposes of recreating the type of musical hodgepodge exhibited by the original television series.1

PARKING.png

Student and Parent/Visitor Parking

Parent/Visitor Parking: LC does not have designated visitor parking, so you can park at any of the metered spots across the street. For after-hours events, you can park for free in any of the parking lots under the freeway. The doors to the Commons building are handicap accessible.

Student Drop-off/Pick-Up: Before and after school, 4th Avenue in front of LC is a busy place with school buses and parents competing for limited space. In order to help alleviate congestion, we recommend that parents drop off and pick up students either on 5th Avenue, 3rd Avenue or a block east or west of LC on 4th Avenue. It is important to not park (even for a drop off) in the bus zones.

Student Parking: LC students can park in the two freeway lots (in front of the Field House and in front of the church to the east). Be sure to display your student parking permit to avoid getting a ticket in the student lots. Student parking permits can be purchased in the Business Office for $5. The lot directly in front of the main building and the parking garage are only for LC staff and are monitored for cars without staff permits.
