Get to Know Dr. Ellen Papacek
Dr. Ellen Papacek is the Medical Director of Lurie Children's Primary Care - Town & Country Pediatrics. She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1996 and completed her residency in pediatrics at Children's Memorial Hospital in 1999. She joined TCP in 1999 as a pediatrician, and in September 2020 she stepped into the role of Medical Director.
Fun Facts about Dr. Papacek
  • She was born in Minneapolis, MN and grew up near La Crosse, WI.
  • Her favorite sports teams are the University of Arizona, the Green Bay Packers, and the Chicago Cubs.
  • Her hobbies include baking, hiking, golf, working out, and travel.
  • She has visited almost 50 national parks and monuments with her family.
  • She has the greatest husband, Eric, and two boys, Connor (16) and Garrett (13).
  • She is a super taster!

The AAP Recommends a Gradual Return to Sports
The American Academy of Pediatrics is advising kids sidelined by the pandemic to return to sports gradually. Children diagnosed with COVID-19 in the six months prior to needing a sports or health form may require a physician or APN visit for medical clearance.
