• Dr. Saccaro was born and raised in the south east suburbs of Chicago. "I went to college at Loyola University Chicago and have been in the city ever since! I am a city girl at heart, but I love to hike and be immersed in nature."
  • She is a die hard Cubs fan, but she also loves the Bulls and the Blackhawks. "There is a strong rivalry in my house with baseball teams. Half of us are Cubs fans and half are Sox. So I need to really fight for my kids to be Cubs fans! In fact, each year I take my kids to see the Cubs play in a new city."
  • One of her hobbies is running. "I just signed up for a crazy 200 mile relay race up and down the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky. My daughter goes to University of Kentucky and the race ends right by her apartment!"
  • She was a drummer in a punk band in college and enjoys seeing live music. "The first song I learned on the drums was “Blitzkrieg Bop” by the Ramones. I actually got to see the Ramones live when I was in high school."
  • Ice cream is the way to her heart. "I used to work at Zarlengo's (my family's Italian Ice and Ice Cream store) for 12 years and managed the whole sale department."
  • Dr. Saccaro's husband Matt is a chef in Chicago. "He is super talented but never wants to cook at home!"
  • She has 3 children. Jules (21) is a junior at the University of Kentucky studying political science and pre-law. She rides horses and is on the Eventing Team. Gio (12) is very into sports and is "super fast." Luca (8) is the class clown and loves animals.
  • Her family has a dog named Kennedy who is a 6 year old Aussie. She is super loveable and high energy. Tyrion is their foster cat when he comes home with Jules.
  • Dr. Saccaro's favorite thing about pediatrics is prevention. "I focus a lot on nutrition/physical activity/lowering screen time. ADHD is also very rewarding; the difference you see is so drastic. Mental health in general has been a particular focus of mine in recent years after seeing the impact of the pandemic on pediatric mental health."
