• Dr. Kotagal was born in St Louis, MO and also grew up in Rochester, MN.
  • She has lived all over the place, including: San Francisco, Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Cape Town! 
  • Dr. Kotagal loves to travel. "My most memorable trip was one to Japan in 2017 (pre-kids and pre-covid!)." On her wish list for upcoming travel include a trip to Harry Potter World and visiting family in India.
  • She lives with her family in the West Loop. She has been married for 9 years to her husband Ani, and together they have a 3.5yo daughter named Veda and a 1yo son named Naveen. "Both kids are total characters and keep her busy!"
  • On the weekends, Dr. Kotagal can be found at one of Chicago’s great playgrounds with her kids or at the local public library looking for a good book. She loves to read (mostly fiction) and is always looking for recommendations! 
  • She just finished reading “The Plot” by Jean Hanff Korelitz and “The Vegetarian” by Han Kang, and is currently reading “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can’t Stop Talking” by Susan Cain. Her favorite book is “A Tree Grows In Brooklyn” by Betty Smith, which she has read probably 100 times. Next time you see her, please share what you are reading!
