March 11 - In 1888, the Great Blizzard of 1888 began along the eastern seaboard of the United States, shutting down commerce and killing more than 400.

March 12 - In 1894, Coca-Cola was bottled and sold for the first time in Vicksburg, Mississippi, by local soda fountain operator Joseph A. Biedenharn.
March 13 - In 1933, banks in the U.S. began to re-open after President Franklin D. Roosevelt mandated a "bank holiday."
March 14 - In 1964, a jury in Dallas found Jack Ruby guilty of killing Lee Harvey Oswald, the assumed assassin of President John F. Kennedy.
March 15 - In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson sent 4,800 United States troops over the border into Mexico to pursue Pancho Villa.
March 16 - In 1621, Samoset, a Mohegan, visited the settlers of Plymouth Colony and greeted them, "Welcome, Englishmen! My name is Samoset."
