Inclement Weather Policy

When the weather is a factor in school closings, delays, or early dismissals, LCS follows the more conservative decision made by either Carroll or Baltimore County Public Schools. (Example: If Baltimore County opens 2 hours late and Carroll County is closed, LCS will be closed.)

If school opens 2 hours late, the student lunch that can be ordered will always be a pizza meal.

Before Care is available at 8:45 am on a 2-hour delay.

In the event of inclement weather, we notify changes to our school day in the many ways listed below:

• The Sycamore homepage (rolling message in upper right-hand margin).
• Email sent by 6:30 am
• Text message to your cell phone by 6:30 am. If you would like to be added to this service, please call the front office (410-655-5527) and speak to Mrs. Dumas
• LCS Daily Info (QR Code)
• WBAL news 

Wanted

LCS was blessed with a very generous donation in October with a "new to us" conference room table and chairs for our conference room. To make our meetings more effective, we are now in search of a flat-screen monitor approximately 43" or bigger to mount on the wall. If you or someone you know were blessed with a new TV this holiday season and are looking for someone to take your old one off your hands, contact Robin Moran at [email protected]. Blessings!

Information, Donations Needed, Fundraising & Prayer Requests

We are less than 40 days until our trip. Please keep us in your prayers (8th grade students, traveling parents, and staff). Pray that students stay healthy, calm their nerves, and prepare their hearts for this amazing trip)

We have depleted our entire supply of donations for this trip. We are going to start asking for different donations every month to help restock or supplies for future Costa Rica Mission Trip Gift Bags.

A dress down pass will be given in March for your donation of washcloths.

The Costa Rica team is also in need of small-wheeled suitcases! If you have an extra suitcase we are looking for donations!

Happy New Year! We are very excited to announce that plans are well underway for our 2024 Annual Dinner & Auction on Friday, March 22, 2024! This is our largest fundraiser of the school year and is critical to help us meet our expenses and keep tuition costs down. For our new families, this annual event is the social highlight of the year and one you will not want to miss. For more information, refer to the email sent yesterday or click here.  Do you want to help us secure donations to ensure our Auction's success? LCS Day of Prayer

LCS Day of Prayer was such a wonderful way to kick off 2024! More than 70 parents and staff members joined the 24-hour time of prayer, 30 minutes at a time. It was such fun to see it all come together and know that our students and staff arrived at school this week wrapped in the warmth of numerous prayers. Thank you to all who participated!

We would love to continue this spirit of prayer by moving our Lion's Den prayer time to the 3rd Thursday of each month from 2:15-2:50 p.m. starting January 18th. (The following months we'll meet on February 15th, March 21st, April 18th, and May 16th.) You can park your car in the carpool lane (make sure your number is on the dash) and join us. Know that we will keep a strict eye on the time so that the carpool isn't slowed down for other families! Please email Cindy Barr at [email protected] with questions.

Does anyone have an objection to a little healthy competition? The 2nd grade won the last two school challenges and they are running away with BOX TOP$ too!

Let's try to shake things up! BOX TOP$ is an easy way to support LCS. Buy participating products and use the Box Tops app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and earnings are credited to your designated school online (LCS). Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your digital or email receipt with the Box Tops app and earn. LCS Spiritwear

Did you miss the Spiritwear Drive at the beginning of the school year? Many families have asked if they can still purchase items, so we are going to offer a second sale this year, and include a couple of new items as well. Be on the lookout for the next Spiritwear Drive opening in the next several weeks. 

Uniform Closet Update

Winter has arrived so you may want to consider stopping by and look at the sweater collection.  All items are $5.00. Has your child outgrown some of their uniforms? Is your daughter's skirt getting too short? Need to make room in their closets and drawers? Bring your gently used uniforms to help us replenish.
