Brandon Harrington was a teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area of California for 8 years and moved to Colorado in 2011.  Brandon has taught at Conrad Ball Middle School  in Loveland the past three years where he was awarded "Teacher of the Year" in 2014.  He is also the founder and creative director for the Harrington Arts Alliance, a theatre arts school in Loveland, where they have written, directed and performed over 30 shows, produced amazing haunted houses, and have helped many at risk youth build confidence and character.  He has performed his anti-bullying assemblies throughout school districts in Colorado and has twice been awarded "Hero in the Community."  Besides his growing family and loved ones, nothing is more important to him than being a teacher and expressing himself through the wonderful world of theatre.

School Attendance Is Vital
All public schools in Colorado receive funding from the state based on the number of students who attend their school.  It is critical your student be present during the October-count period. The count occurs Sept. 24th-Oct. 8th. If your child will be absent for more than two days in a row during this time period for reasons other than an illness, please contact the office for an official document to sign.

Our test of the emergency-contact system went well. If you didn't receive a call to your home or cell phone last week please CLICK HERE
to view directions on how to sign up. If you have any questions please e-mail Tom Stokovaz,Liberty's IT Director.

Greetings from the Liberty Common Board of Directors
Welcome Back! The Board of Directors is excited for another fantastic school year. The BOD and Administration met on Saturday, August 20th to prepare for the year. LCS Founder, Dr. Randy Everett, was on-hand to kick-off our session. He encouraged us to stay keep united in how we frame our purpose. The need to develop a long-term strategic plan was unanimously determined to be a significant priority. Ongoing education of our community members in the area of school philosophies is also a priority. Further plans will be determined at the September BOD meeting.

Community comment time at our board meetings has been moved to 6pm at the start of each Board meeting. Please note the change from 8pm. I strongly encourage you to attend a Board meeting. It's a great way to enhance your understanding of the philosophy and leadership of our incredible school. Our next BOD meeting is September 15th at 6:00 p.m

The BOD swore in its newest member, Kelly Notarfrancesco, to serve a three-year term.  Kelly is the mother of three LCS students at the elementary school.

Board officers were elected for the 2016-2017 school year.
Paulette Hansen, Chair
Patrick Albright, Vice-Chair
Joel Goeltl, Treasurer
Denise Benz, Secretary

LCS parents have back to school homework too! Please ready your family's copy of "What Every Liberty Parent Needs to Know". If you did not receive one during registration, please request one from the office staff. This assembly of articles introduces many of our philosophies, providing background on how the school functions and why. This booklet is a must read for all Liberties families!

We look forward to another fabulous year for our school community.
Paulette Hansen, Chair

Grandparents Day Seeking Volunteers

Join this group!  The Liberty Grandparents Day Planning Committee held its first 1-hour meeting last Friday.  The group meets Fridays through November 18th in preparation for the November 22nd Annual Grandparents Day.  As you can see, it's a super-fun group of volunteer parents; and there are still a few empty chairs around our planning table.  Please volunteer to fill them.  Many hands make light work - and more happiness.

Liberty parents: Are you looking for a unique and fun way to help your children's school?  The Grandparents Day Planning Committee meets just a few hours per month, and needs a few new members.  If you are new to Liberty, Grandparents Day is a beloved, cherished tradition, and arguably the most rewarding and heartwarming events at Liberty. If interested, please contact Erin Mihulka.
