Looking Ahead:
Almost 2027 Dues Time:
As Summer days are slowly passing by. Means it is almost time to start collecting 2027 Membership Dues. Starting October 1st, we will officially be collecting payments. As of right now current members will be able to pay In-Person on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., by Mail, or Online (Processing Fee Included). Don't forget to renew your junior members too, $5 per year. Email Reminders will be sent. However, the ultimate reminder is on the front of your membership card. * Anyone planning to pay online: the 10-digit number on the back of your card will be required to complete the process.
2027 Dues: $150.00

2027 Board of Directors Elections:
With the days passing quickly, 2026 will come to an end and 2027 will be here before we know it. In January of 2027, elections for the Board of Directors will take place, where 5 seats will need to be filled. At this time, if there is any member interested in becoming a LCSA Board Member, please contact one of the current Board Members to have your name nominated at the October 20, 2026 Board meeting.
Board Member Qualifications:
- Must be a LCSA Member in good standings.
- Must be a LCSA Member for 1 or more years.

Members nominated MUST attend the October 20th, November 17th, & December 15th Board Meetings.
- Need to be present at the elections meeting on January 19, 2027.
- If elected, be able to attend Membership/Board Meetings held on the third Tuesday of every month.

2027 PA State Sporting Clays Championship @ LCSA:
LCSA has been selected to host the 2027 PA State Sporting Clays Championship
on August 4-8, 2027.
During this exciting time, a lot of planning and staging will be taking place around the club grounds.
For this great event, the entire club will be used.
Therefore, the ENTIRE club will be closed July 26, 2027 - August 9, 2027.
The Board of Directors greatly appreciates all members cooperation during this exciting time.

Sporting Clays League:
Fall Members Only Clays League Begins 9/19 Weekend
The LCSA members only fall clays league will begin the weekend of September 19-21. The league will run for 8 weeks, ending on the weekend of November 7-9. Shooters can post scores either Saturday or Monday, make up and shoot ahead to cover missed weeks, and will have a chance to bank an extra score to replace their low round. We shoot a total of 400 targets over the course of the league, with a banquet and awards after the league is over.
Cost is $25 per shooter.
Clays cards are required, and a special league clays card will be available at the start of the league.

Safety at the Club:
We can all agree that safety is a main concern.
When using the Upper Pistol Bays, ammo is prohibited at the 'Safety Tables'. These tables are available to shooters to fix and inspect their firearms for any reason. While allowing others to feel safe knowing that ammo is not being handled at the same time in an unsafe manner and direction.

Club Calendar:
The club calendar on our website is the ultimate schedule for club events. From late spring to mid Fall, the club is busy with events in various areas of the club. The purpose of the monthly newsletter is to let members know of upcoming scheduled events. However, there may be times that an event is added or removed after the newsletter is sent. Therefore, the newsletter is not to replace the club calendar. Please check the calendar before coming out so you can plan accordingly.

Approved Backstops / Target holders:
Reminder: When shooting in any of the LCSA Pistol Bays, please use proper backstops and target holders. There have been numerous times our Maintenance Team has found old, used tires left in the Lower Pistol Bay for us to clean up and dispose of. We understand they work well in these scenarios; however, we are not responsible for the aftermath when left. Anyone leaving debris/tires may be subject to membership consequences.

For any member looking to utilizing the board, please adhere by the following rules.
- Items for sale may only be posted by club members.

Write the date on the item(s) to be posted. Any items posted without dates will be removed immediately, regardless of how long it has been hanging on the board.
- For Sale items will be removed 30 days after posting. Please post again if the item(s) are not sold or you would like them posted again.
- Wanted items will be removed 60 days after posting. Please post again if still wanted.

Club Reminders:
Rifle Range Guest Policy:
Rifle Range Guests, who are shooting, are permitted on Sundays ONLY from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Members may bring 2 guests at a time per day. Guests need to be registered at the clubhouse counter before proceeding down to the range. The first 2 guests per year per member are $10 each. Subsequent guests after the initial 2 of the year are $25 per guest per day. Any member violating the guest policy is subject to loss of membership privileges.
Junior Members becoming an Adult Member:
The month a Junior Member turns 18 years old, and wishes to continue their membership, they are eligible to become an Adult Members. They will need to complete/submit an application and attend a 'New Member Meeting'. The initiation fee is waived, however there will be the fees for the Membership and key card. * Please add a note on the completed application that they are transferring from a Junior Member to an Adult Member.
Steel Target Approval:
Reminder: All outside steel targets need to be pre-approved by the Board of Directors prior to usage on club property. Targets can be approved on meeting nights, third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Please have all targets set up on the front covered porch by 6:45 p.m., prior to the start of the meeting.

PFSC Sporting Clays Fun Shoot:
Open to LCSA Members & Non-Members
A benefit shoot for the PA Federation of Sportsmen & Conservationist and its NW Division, held at LCSA. Open to every skill level, first-timers included.

Time: Arrival by 9:00 a.m.
Squad Formation- 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.
Safety Briefing 9:30 a.m., Shooting follows.

Ruffed Grouse Society Fundraiser Shoot:
Open to LCSA Members & Non-Members
"Greater Pittsburgh Area Chapter: Fundraiser Shoot and BBQ"
This event is a great opportunity to shake off the rust with 100 challenging clay targets, reconnect with friends, share a few stories and maybe even settle some scores along the way.
A hot lunch will be provided by MISSION BBQ, and attendees will have the chance to win numerous door prizes. We'll also be raffling off a beautiful side-by-side shotgun--just in time for the upcoming season.
Come out for a great day of shooting, camaraderie, and conservation support.

Where: Upper Pistol Bays at LCSA
This match will host approximately 405 shooters over 3 days of competition.
7 Stages of Falling Steel Targets ~ 25-35 targets per stage ~ Certified Range Officers ~ Approximately 210 hits required.

Outdoor Dynamics Falling Steel WORLD RECORDS
This Year, 2026, Falling Steel World Series will debut 3 standardized "World Record" stages presented by Outdoor Dynamics. Similar to a classifier, these stages will be set the exact same at every FSWS match. This will be an excellent way to track your progress across matches as well as a way to compete for an actual WORLD RECORD! FSWS will debut 1 new stage at our first 3 matches this year. We will award any new "World Records" in our 6 competition divisions on each stage at the conclusion of a match. Keep watching for the release of our Outdoor Dynamics World Record stages and diagrams in the weeks prior to the match.

Archery:
The LCSA Twang Gang will be starting back.
When: Wednesday Evenings, August 5, 12, 19 & 26
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Cost: $1 for Members/ $10 for Non-Members/ Kids 16 and under shoot FREE!
Where: Shoot the 3D course. The group meets by the Rifle Range Gate

The 3D Bowman Trail is open for members and non-members to practice. Also, the archery area near Sporting Clays Station #1 is for members only. All targets are field tip only. There is a broadhead block located in the Members Only Archery Area. The new archery tower is in production, keep an eye out for the finished product.

Bullseye League:
NRA 50-foot pistol targets will be used for slow, time, and rapid fire controlled by the range officer.
Any member wishing to learn how to shoot Bullseye or increase their skill at shooting Bullseye are welcome to shoot with the group. We have a mix of Guy and Gal shooters.
