Club Road and Parking Lot Improvements:

This month, we are excited to announce that the club road and parking lot will undergo a tar and chip improvement process, aimed at enhancing both safety and accessibility for all our members and visitors. While we currently do not have a specific date for the commencement of this work, we appreciate your understanding and patience as the paving company works diligently to complete these enhancements. Your cooperation is invaluable as we strive to create a welcoming environment for everyone at LCSA.

Almost time- 2025 Dues Reminder:

It is almost that time of year: Membership Dues Collection. Starting in October, we will start collecting membership dues for 2025. Membership dues are due December 31, 2024. We will send out several reminder emails throughout the collection period.

2025 Membership Dues (Oct. - Dec. 31): Adult- $125 Junior- $5

2025 Late Membership Dues (January 1-31: $25 Late Fee): Adult- $150 Junior- $5

2025 Board of Directors Elections:

With the days passing quickly, 2024 will come to an end and 2025 will be here before we know it. In January of 2025, elections for the Board of Directors will take place, where 5 seats will need to be filled. At this time, if there is any member interested in becoming a LCSA Board Member, please contact one of the current Board Members to have your name nominated at the September 17, 2024 Meeting.

Board Member Qualifications:

• Must be a LCSA Member in good standings.
• Must be a LCSA Member for 1 or more years.
• Members nominated need to attend the October, November, & December Board Meetings.
• Need to be present at the elections meeting on January 21, 2025.
• If elected, be able to attend Membership/Board Meetings held on the third Tuesday of every month.

Trap Field Changes:

Both Trap Field #1 & Trap Field #2 have been set up to throw singles only.



Sporting Clays Shooters:

Please remember to lower the covers on the card readers at each station after removing your target card. The covers are in place to help protect the card readers from the weather and to help prolong the lifespan of the devices.

Steel Target Approval:

Reminder: All outside steel targets need to be pre-approved by the Board of Directors prior to usage on club property. Targets can be approved on meeting nights, third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM. Please have all targets set up on the front covered porch by 6:45 PM, prior to the start of the meeting.

Indoor Range Safe Area:

The Indoor Range will be closed and used as a safe area during all scheduled shooting matches held at the Upper Pistol Bays.

This includes the following Upcoming Matches:

• Monthly IDPA Matches
• Monthly USPSA Matches
• Monthly Steel Challenge Matches

Buy, Sell, Trade Posting Rules:

For any member looking to utilizing the board, please adhere by the following rules.

1.Items for sale may only be posted by club members.

2.Write the date on the item(s) to be posted. Any items posted without dates will be removed immediately, regardless of how long it has been hanging on the board.

3.For Sale items will be removed 30 days after posting. Please post again if the item(s) are not sold or you would like them posted again.

4.Wanted items will be removed 60 days after posting. Please post again if still wanted.

We have 12-gauge shotgun shells for sale. They are available on Sundays only from

Club Reminders:

Rifle Range Guest Policy:  Rifle Range Guests, who are shooting, are permitted on Sundays ONLY from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Members may only bring 2 guests at a time per day. Guests need to be registered at the clubhouse counter before proceeding down to the range. The first 2 guests per year per member are $10 each. Subsequent guests after the initial 2 of the year are $25 per guest per day. Any member violating the guest policy is subject to loss of membership privileges.

Junior Members becoming an Adult Member: 

The month a Junior Member turns 18 years old, and wishes to continue their membership, they are eligible to become an Adult Members. They will need to complete/submit an application and attend a 'New Member Meeting'. The $100 initiation fee is waived, however there will be the fees for the Membership and key card. * Please add a note on the completed application that they are transferring from a Junior Member to an Adult Member.

Young Guns Sporting Clays Fundraiser Shoot:

Open to Members and Public

When: September 7, 2024

Schedule: 9:00 AM Shooter Registration; 9:45AM Safety Meeting; 9:50AM Shooters to assigned station; 10:00AM Shotgun Start; 1:00PM +/- Lunch served

Cost: $100 per Shooter (No more than 6 shooters per squad)

Christian Sports International Sporting Clays Fundraiser Shoot:

Open to Members and Public

When: September 14, 2024

Schedule of Events:

8:15 AM: Doors Open ~ Continental Breakfast ~ Auction & Gun Raffles Open

9:00 AM: Sporting Clays Shootout

12:15 PM: Lunch

1:00 PM: Pull Gun Ticket & Auction Winners

Cost:

$145 Individual Shooter (Includes: Continental Breakfast & Lunch, 100 Clays)

$400 Group of Four Shooters (Includes: Continental Breakfast & Lunch, 100 Clays per shooter, Golf cart for group)

Join us "FOR the Kids" Sporting Clays Shootout, where each shooter gets 100 sporting clays to shoot from 20 different stations. Remember to bring your own shells! Continental breakfast and buffet style lunch provided as well as prizes for the top shooter, top youth shooter (under 18), and top two teams. Door prizes will be raffled off, along with

a separate gun raffle and 50/50.

Contests: "The IMPOSSIBLE Shot"- $20 per entry (3 entry max). At 3 of the 20 stations, contestants who sign up also get to take a shot at clays C and D (in addition to the A and B clays shot at each station). One extra raffle ticket for the “Impossible Shot” prize is given for each “HIT” of a C clay or D clay.

Station Sponsorship opportunities are available at different levels ( More sponsorship information available on flyer).

Register online by September 1, 2024 to allow accurate counts for golf carts needed.

Sporting Clays shoot to benefit pre-apprentice education and development scholarships.

Archery:

Come Shoot the 3D Bowhunter Trail on Thursdays!

The LCSA Omega Twang Gang is meeting on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. to shoot the 3D Course. You never know, the aerial target thrower may be out to try your luck! All are welcome, no matter what level of shooting experience or type of bow. Event details listed below:

When: Thursday Evenings, September 5, 12, 19, 26

Time: 6:00 PM

Cost: $1 for Members/ $10 for Non-members/ Kids 16 and under shoot free.

30 3-D targets on the trail. Shoot as many times as you want.

All ages, compounds and stick bows.

No Broadheads.

The group meets by the Rifle Range Gate

Bullseye League:

Resuming Wednesday, September 11th!

NRA 50-foot pistol targets will be used for slow, time, and rapid fire controlled by the range officer.

Any member wishing to learn how to shoot Bullseye or increase their skill at shooting Bullseye are welcome to shoot with the group. We have a mix of Guy and Gal shooters.

If you are a beginner or seasoned bullseye (precision pistol) target shooter and would like to join the group, please email Dewey Minteer at dukefm@zoominternet.net or call 724-758-5102 and leave a message.
